how many of you have actually watched him in 10+ matches?
i just ask that because right now fiorentina supporters are probably youtubing for eboué videos, watching them and posting on their forums "man, what a brilliant right back! strong, goalscorer, fast, experienced... please sign him!"

Hope so

And we take the piss out of tango man in hull for much the same thing too
Personally I know fcuk all about cana except what I have read on here but I do know that we need a mean son of a bitch alongside cesc and by all accounts cana ticks those boxes

People shouldnt assume that cos sunderland are going after him then he aint any good - for starters seeing as wenger never buys big it is inevitable that we will be competing with clubs like that for our targets and secondly does that mean that huntelaar is no good cos those scummy *word censored* down the road want him ? No it means that other clubs are trying to show ambition by bringing in quality players to their clubs while we just move along the same old path at the same old speed

I can understand that we cant compete with the likes of Chelsea & Man City for signings, but when we are competing for players against the likes of Sunderland and the Scum, something is seriously wrong somewhere.
With the match revenue that Arsenal get, we should be level with the likes of ManUtd and Liverpool in the transfer market, especially considering both these clubs arent exactly financially secure. But that doesnt seem to be the case. Money is coming in from transfers - Henry, Vieira, Ade, Hleb - and much less is being spent.
Its absolutely obvious that we need strengthening in central midfield - if we have another season with the likes of Song, Denilson, or Diaby partnering Cesc, Im afraid we are in trouble. I have no idea if Cana is as good as `they` say he is, but from what `they` have said, I have some hope he is better than what we have. Its so obvious we need another signing in the midfield, but I strongly believe that Arsene will shortly be publically saying that he is happy with the squad he has.
One other thing that absolutely bugs me is the injuries that keep happening, and the public statements from the club stating player return times - Nasri returning in 6 weeks? Call me cynical, but I really do believe me that this is propaganda convincing us we dont need another player - in reality Nasri is more likely to be out for 3 times that time.
I really hope that Im wrong - that Arsene will try to strengthen the squad more this season. But I just cant see it. Its so obvious that spending a bit on quality & experience really does reap rewards (just look at AA) - I just wish Arsene/the Board can see this.
Rant over!! Despite this, I just cant wait for the season to start

BG - you make interesting points but you also haven't back them up either with evidence.
I take my information based from reliable source and make my own judgements. Most of the shit written in the Sun, Skysport (the same thing

) newsnow and Goal.com is litterally shit. However, often comes a small nugget of truth.
If the same information or similar is mentioned repeatidly across the spectrum of media then you have to acknowledge its importance.
So as I said Arsenal offered £5M plus two players on which basis can you also prove that Arsenal were paying £10-15M for Melo as you quote?
We get the info the same!
Having a quick search on the bank loan safety barrier I can't find
anything so it would be useful to see.
I'm no finance wizard but recent reports from Usmanov said he was concerned, Fergie this week claimed Arsenal don't have the cash, and Ade (as much as I dispise the crunt) claimed he was sold as we needed the cash. The major sticking point is every man and his dog knows we need a midfielder but we still don't spend.
The the rumblings have been heard on this before and it's getting louder.

Or do you think it might be because Arsene just isnt interested????
As someone said above, how many people have seen him over 10+games, not many id guess, apparently he was offered a trial at Arsenal (ie : we still were not sure) but he couldnt complete it due to some immigration reasoning (im not saying thats gospel, just what i read). IF thats true, im guessing he might not actually be that good OR he might be a risk, thus not worth us bidding a large amount of bunce on.

as entertaining as i think he is, the man wouldnt last 5 minutes in this league because he literally kicks the shit out of other players. its the kind of spirit and dedication that the team needs, but it also needs a good head on its shoulders to stay on the pitch for 90 minutes week in week out

I have posted this info and much more related info on here at least three times it comes from the financial report.
NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS
For the year ended 31 May 2008
15. Cash at bank and in hand
.............................................................Group..........
.....................................................2008..........2007
....................................................£000’s.........£000’s
Debt service reserve accounts........31,553........32,952
Other accounts..............................61,711........40,905
....................................................93,264........73,857
The Group is required under the terms of its fixed rate bonds and floating rate bonds to maintain specified amounts on
bank deposit as security against future payments of interest and principal. Accordingly the use of these debt service
reserve accounts is restricted to that purpose.
Quoting from newspapers and whatever other media outlets you use for info is all a bit of fun, but unless it becomes a fact you should take it all with a pinch of salt, because 90% of what they write or report is just stuff some lazy bastard journalist has sat in his office dreaming up and once it goes into print the rest of the lazy bastards just quote it, they don't check up on ithe info and they don't care whether it is true or not, it just fills time or space for them.
If you took time to notice you'll find a lot of the stories you quote as facts are but one of a dozen different stories that these muppets quote about the same subject and each one has a different fact, you are just picking the one you want to believe, but if you look at the factual documents e.g the financial reports you'll find none of the facts that the media dream up make any sense, they are pulling numbers out of a hat.
The only people that know the facts are the board and the manager and you won't here the facts from either of them because it's not in their interest to let us or the media know them, because it gives them no leverage for excuses.
So the best we can do is study the factual documents available and the managers past behaviour and from that you will get a lot better understanding of whats going on and why than if you listen to the media.
The figure i quoted for Melo was part of a tongue in cheek post and it was regarding people like yourself saying that AW was trying to buy Melo, now if you think he was, then he certainly wouldn't have been trying to buy him if he didn't have at least 10m available, and don't insult your own intelligence by suggesting that AW is trawling europe looking for a quality DCM with only a couple of million quid and Eboue as payment, if he's looking for a player he had at least 10m and a lot more than that now.
Usmanov will say whatever he has to say to get what he wants and that is a bigger shareholding.
Fergie- wtf would fergie know about our finances, he's basing his judgement on the fact that he can't believe that any one in their right mind would spend as little as AW if they had the choice when there team is getting weaker and weaker, he's giving AW the benefit of the doubt, i'm not.
Ade- i can't believe you actually wrote that, we sold Ade because we needed the money

have you been in a coma for the last year, this is the kind of nonsense i'm talking about it's just so far away from the truth and you know it ,yet you print it because it fits into what you want to believe, the last reason we sold Ade was because we needed money.
Every man and his dog may know what we need but AW thinks he knows better, this is not a new phenomenon, this has been going on for years that is what he is like, he thinks he knows better and for a lot of years he proved he did, but now he is proving he doesn't, he really does think he can run a big club by spending as little as possible, it's an ego thing, you could clear all our debts and give him a hundred million he would still only want to spend no more thsn he takes in on player sales, it's the way he is and the board love it.
Tbh i think he will spend around 20m before the summer is out but only because of the pressure that has shockingly for him been brought to bare from the fans through the season and at the end of the season, but it will go against the grain for sure.
I will be interested to see what your excuse will be for that spending considering you are so sure that he hasn't got any money to spend which was the gist of my original post, some will just keep on making excuses for AW no matter what the facts are even to the point were each excuse will contradict the last one.

He's gone to Sunderland for £5mill.
I'd have had him for that price, it'd been worth a punt!
Oh well!!

If Sunderland had bought him that cant be true, they must know what he is like and if he couldnt go a game without being sent off they wouldnt go for him...... We will see i guess
