Agreed. As I said before; if we can't beat the likes of Celthick then we have no right to be in the CL.

3-0 to the Arse.

I hope...

i dont know why but i have got a feeliing that AA will be playing more in the middle in this one... We need to see him start there, as he will get the hump soon enough of being dumped on the wings, he wasnt in the game much against pompey...

Im hoping,

Almunia
Gibbs (rest clichy for sat) Vermaelen Gallas Eboue (against rest sagna for sat)

Song, Arshavin, Denilson

Diaby Eduardo RVP

But i doubt he will go for it...

I think AW (with the man sh*tty&manure games coming up) will rest lots of players...(Pity he didn't rest Cesc for the Pompey game! )

team could be somehting like:

xxxxxxxxxxALMUNIAxxxxxxxxxxx
EBOUE  xxGALLASxxSILVESTRE  xxGIBBSY
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxSONGxxARSHAVINxxDENILSONxxDIABY
xxxxxBENDTNER xxxxxEDUARDOxxxxxxxx

We may be 2 up on them, but will need to be able to handle the rough house tactics which will ensue quite early in the game!....we need to score in the first 15 - 20 mins..and then DESTROY THE FECKERS!!! :D :D

Let's just get the job done no matter who plays. We should be able to kick their plastic Paddy jock holes and send them back to the slums of Glasgow where they belong, and hope this is the last of jock hoof and hope football we see for a lifetime.

My first game of the season. Hoping for an early goal and then 3 subs to save anybody good for Saturday. My priority, assuming we get through comfortably, is NO MORE INJURIES.

2-0 to the Arsenal.

don't like the press having this down as done and dusted, got to keep it tight early on and pick them off on counter. Would rest those with niggles

my thoughts are that if we get the 1st goal within 20 mins then it could be a bit of a drubbing as they will know there is no way on gods earth that they are going to score three goals at our place. heads will go down along with those jock dreams.

how ever if they get the 1st goal, its will be very tight and tense, game might be close to lol

I think it'll be 2-1 tonight, can seeing them nick one but only after we've increased the margin.

I think we'll line up like this tonight:

Code: Select all

----------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------- Almunia ------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----- Sagna --------- Gallas -------- Vermaelen ------- Clichy -------
-------------------------------- Song --------------------------------
------------- Ramsey ---------------------------- Diaby --------------
--- Bendtner ----------------------------------------- Arshavin ------
------------------------------- Eduardo ------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
RVP is due a rest, as is Denilson. Arshavin would be too but with all the injuries I don't think there's a chance that we can rest him.

I agree the first goal is important, they will bring a big crowd so if they go a goal up things might bit twitchy.

But as long as we are not complacent it should be a formality, strong team from the start, with youngsters on the bench should we finish them off.

Once we put this tie to bed, fingers x'd, had a look at the possible teams we could face and Platini's new format has created a possible nightmare group.

Here's a possible group for us

Arsenal
Real Madrid
Dynamo Kyiv
Rubin Kazan

The galactic tossers and 2 dodgy eastern european teams to contend with. To top it all if we got this group, the away game for Kyiv and Kazan would probably be in December in the middle of an f'ing blizzard, minus 10 degree temps and a plastic f'ing pitch......Something to look forward to eh!!

AW is not taking this lightly so should be a strong team.
"Celtic is a more important game for the club than Saturday, by far," said Wenger. "Because against Celtic, you cannot catch back. Even if we drop points against Man United, you can always catch back. You still have 35 games to go. If you miss the Celtic game, you have zero. It is a massive game. It is much bigger than Saturday."

Wenger does not want his players to consider the job already done against Celtic; one of his favourite sayings to help to maintain focus is that "the next game is the most important". If Arsenal had to suffer a 3-0 defeat in either match, everyone at the club would prefer it to come at Old Trafford, however difficult that might be to bear.
Not sure if my strawberry will cope if they score first. Officially getting nervous. :worried: :worried:

BTW anybody joining me (overweight middle aged white bloke) in "taking" their stand tonight from the family enclosure?
