i played until the under12s for Gremio, by the time Gremio were american champions (lost to ajax in the 1995 world club final), so i met a lot of the players, but you probably know none of them. two of them got famous, though, Emerson (DM, played for milan) and Jardel (ST, played in many portuguese teams, great header).
my cousin's boyfriend is best friends with united's anderson. he tells some interesting stories about the lad...
anyway, if i weren't 5ft 5in i'd probably have become at least an under-16 or so... i was pretty good in my time, pacey, knew a few tricks... shame i became the old tosser i am now.

The commentator. I was 13 and it most defintiely was not up for grabs.franksav63 wrote:The commentator or the Rugby player?BT wrote:I played for Crystal Palace girls for a bit. And my brother played football against both Shaun and Bradley Wright-Phillips at school.

Hardly a claim to fame but.....
I was a mate of and played (in friendly football matches) with Paul Cannoville, the ex-Chelsea and Reading player. Got to go to the players bar after every home match where I was served drinks by big Micky Droy!!
Also in the 80's, I was a Drum Roadie for my mates band, 7th Heaven, who were support to Kool and the Gang on their British and European Tour.
The biggest buzz was seeing a venue with 20,000 people clapping a song I co-wrote with the lead singer of my mates band.

Hmmm, he was a great commentator but if I was a girl of 13 and saw him I'd run a mile....BT wrote:The commentator. hahaha, well, those are long stories.... but i can assure you, none of them make you think anderson has a good character. he is a selfish and unprofessional bastard.franksav63 wrote: Tell us please B.G. you can't just leave that line waving about in the breeze...![]()
but a very good player. i'm impressed that he hasn't really settled yet. he has incredible technique.
have you guys ever heard about the battle of the aflitos? the most incredible football match ever? (anderson and lucas leiva were both in it)

I went on a soccer school at the old JVC sports centre in the clockend..Jimmy Carter was the Arsenal "Star" who came along to joing in the 5-a-side game..I tried to be clever and do some sort of a cruyff turn on him and ended up tripping over the ball and landing on my arse right in front of him..."Nice one, You'll have to teach me that one" said Jimmy...mugged off by Jimmy Carter..never felt so embarassed !
