I Hate Hleb wrote:I hope it doesn't come down to banning orders for you and other gooners either, but according to what I read, the FA have asked Man City and Arsenal to identify fans that were amongst the pushing and shoving.

As we all know, the authorities don't necessarily have to be in the right to act draconianly and I worry that they will single out a few individuals to make an example of. Anyway, sending the letter wouldn't do any harm, that's for sure. Good luck.
If they ban people for pushing, shoving, or even causing the surge, then they really are out of touch with reality

As for the person who threw the plastic chair (  ) and whoever knocked the steward unconscious, they may find themselves with a ban at the very least... and it's difficult to argue against that, even if it is understandable.... after all, I'm a calm and chilled out person and even my blood was boiling

Sorry to post in here again but i messaged talksport with this..

Lets see if i get a response

Dear talksport,

I am an Arsenal season ticket holder who was at the city of Manchester stadium last week and was pictured in many of the newspapers looking rather angry at Mr Adebayor, i have had to listen to professional football managers and various members of the press and callers on your station describe the travelling fans as animals, nutters, and many many more things. I'd like to have a chance to air on your radio the view from an Arsenal fan who was there.

I'll start with the history between Arsenal and Adebayor. Arsenal signed Adebayor for miserly fee reported to be around the £3m mark, he was a very raw talent at just 21 years of age and was brought in by Arsenal and made into one of the most feared strikers in Europe. After 1 very successful season for the gunners he believed he should be on a par with the wages of Thierry Henry and demanded an increase, reports suggest to us that his wages were TREBLED, yet he still spent the whole summer openly flirting with AC Milan trying to find a way away from the club who had made him. He also headbutted a younger player (Bendtner) who of course was his own team mate against our biggest rivals.

Adebayor's effort for the following season was non-existant, he showed no desire, no passion and showed us all that he wanted out and never got his move, the icing on the cake was the complete lack of interest during the biggest 2 games of the season against Manchester United in the champions league. He then went on record and made a TV interview openly having a pop at the Arsenal fans whilst still at the club. The only "Abuse" he ever received were a few boo's as it was blatantly obvious to us he didn't want to be there. Also after signing for Man City he's shown a complete lack of respect to the whole football club, fans, players and staff alike.

The song ringing around the Emirates this season has been "He's 5ft4, He's 5ft4, We've got Arshavin, F*uck Adebayor". This is the exact same song that was being sung at the city of Manchester stadium, the racist song (He's Dad washes elephants, and he's mum is a whore), that was sung by almost every single other club that arsenal played against when he was an Arsenal player was not sung by the majority, infact i dont even recall hearing the minority sing it, the press have wrongfully denied us as fans as being racists, in fact i think you'll find that the song that was being sung was by the Manchester City fans, and this for them goes "Adebayor, Adebayor, He's hung like an elephant, and he's wife is sore". NOT the racist song from Arsenal fans.

I was in the ground an hour before kick off, and in my seat very early. Adebayor came out a good 10-15 minutes before the rest of the Man City squad to warm up, he decided to do this in the Arsenal half of the pitch in front of the few fans that had arrived. When both sets of teams were out warming up, he was still in the Arsenal half already looking to evoke a reaction from the traveling support. As the game was ready to kick off, both teams out and in position, who was wondering around the Arsenal half alone, Adebayor, being extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Man City were attacking our fans in the first half and when they gained a corner Adebayor was in the net, shaking the net looking at the Arsenal fans GOADING the away support. He then went in shockingly late on Fabregas, Kicked Van Persie in the head, and all this lead to the one incident.

He scored a goal, 90 yards away from our fans, there was an air of "we all knew this would happen" we had resigned to the fate of Adebayor scoring, if he had just celebrated up the other end there would be no trouble, even if he had scored at our end and celebrated i don't think there would be half the trouble. But he turned and ran 90 yards towards our fans, arms widespread, huge smile, all the goading, all the taunting which the press don't pick up on, aswell as the history, you can imagine the RAGE that built up inside the away support (After all we are humans)

This sparked some extremely unsavory seens, I'd like to think of myself as a fairly placid human being, but this guy made me lose the plot, id never throw anything and i don't condone those actions but i can understand how they were so incensed. Objects were also being thrown towards our fans by the home support which isn't picked up on, i was struck by a bottle and a coin as i was sitting near the segregation. BUT none of this would have happened if Adebayor was not so childish. He even had the front to sarcastically applaud the arsenal fans after the match and then "apologise" on national TV.

There's two sides to every story, i hope you take this into consideration and these points are made during one of your shows.

I dont take to being branded as thug or a mindless idiot to kindly, people react when provoked as much as we were by Adebayor.

Kind Regards,

Warren

Fair play fella. Hopefully they will invite you on and give you a chance to give your side of events. However, I would say this is unlikely because you wrote that too well i.e. it was calm and rational. From what I've heard on Talksport, admittedly not a huge amount although I do listen through Sky now and again, they don't do calm and rational.

Gough is appalling he makes Ian Wright sound good....... As someone else said they wont read anything that is rational and carefully written and its because they wont be able to react to it with the usual "Well said maate i agree" from Gough and whatever Arsenal hating from Durham

No, they're a ''shock station'' anything 'on the level' is not good for listening figures (How do they compile that anyway).

They'll come out with something contraversial, and against the grain, just to provoke a reaction, they're basically just a bunch of *word censored* :banghead:

Copy and pasted from the internet but i do think this is right i had heard this before
For radio programmes they get a sample of the poulation to fill out very complex listening schedules and submit them, they then use this data and assume the percentages apply across the whole population (particular age ranges usually apply) and there you go, you have your figures.

So one extra person listening to a radio show could increase their figures by thousands.

Thats true of radio stations
