I actually think the atmosphere was pretty good today, as far as games against Wigan go. I was behind the goal next to away fans and was not terrible.
I was in the Family Enclosure as usual so just around from you. I too thought the atmosphere was OK. Obviously not the same as manure, scum etc but pretty decent. Also weirdly, no empty seats and hardly anybody left early at half time or full time.

So Boomer you can piss off with your derogatory comments about the Clock End. I think we were more vocal than you shower today and we finally got to see some goals up close. :barscarf: :barscarf:
Did I make any comment about the Clockend?

BTW..."We always score this [north] end"! :barscarf:
The Family Enclosure is the Clock End, so yes you did insult us. And the scoring is not your end it is we always score in the second half which for some reason is 95% your end. :finger:

The atmosphere was pretty good today considering the fact there was only 5 away fans.

It's very easy to jump on the 'ST's backs about the atmosphere but when you see people escorted out week after week for 'showing passion' it's kind of off putting going mental and putting something you've waited 10 years to get your hands on taken away from you.

Agreed, there are muppets around who want their peace and quiet. But you all must remember the 'Highbury Library' and in my opinion it hasn't changed much from then. Just more leg space . . .

I was in block 22 today and suprisingly the atmosphere was quite good. Good banter with a group of wigan fans, and i thought it was better than usual.

We all moan about the lack of atmosphere and rightly so, but the only real way we are going to solve the problem is with the clubs help.

All it would take is 3-4 blocks at each end of the ground to be "singing areas" where red, silver members could buy tickets and see where it goes from there. If it was popular and in high demand it could then perhaps be expanded. I think the main problem is the fans that want to sing are dotted all round the stadium in 1s and 2s. i think there is enough fans who want the atmosphere to improve but you cannot create an atmosphere in small groups, just sitting with a mate

I was in block 23 and the atmosphere there was really good today.

A few great chants. Also a great chant for Vermaelen, but I forgot the tune it was sung to.

Somebody tell me what it was.

Atmosphere no different than usual. And if you went to any other Premier league ground in the country where the game was v Wigan, it would have been no better.

I was in block 105 as usual in the upper tier and the usual die hard fans (including myself) were singing throughout. Sometimes it gets the quieter ones singing too but yesterdays game was not one to get excited about, despite the result. I noticed that the blocks around the away fans were particularly noisy and they looked like they were enjoying some great banter with a handfull of mouthy Wigan fans.
I remember in the early days at the Grove that this area around the away fans was embarresingly silent and our support was constantly mocked by the travelling supporters. I'm pleased that this has changed and i look forward to sitting there once again some time soon.

The Vermaelen song is to Give It Up by KC and the Sunshine Band. Sounded good.

I was in block 113 yesterday. Apsolutely no atmosphere at all. I think myself and a 14 year old boy about 7 or 8 rows in front of me were the only ones interested in signing! I only have a Red nembership so it's always upper tier for me but this is by far the worst block I was ever in. Seemed to be a bit of a decent banter in the block beside the away supporters though.

Well, I had the best day ever in block 1.

I was sat a few rows behind Wenger (and Basil :speechless: ) and the view was fantastic... brilliant, in fact.

The weather was superb, and it was just so relaxing.... no standing up if you hate Totnumb, no chanting or singing... just a quiet, snoozy afternoon watching the Arsenal from bang on the half way line! Perfect!!! 8)

I'm almost always behind the goals in the lower tier, and I enjoy singing and chanting (which is why I love the away games) but I'll be honest, I loved being able to watch Arsenal in peace and quiet on Saturday without having to bother about standing, chanting songs, or wondering whether the person behind me can see  , etc.

And best of all, the bloke in front of me left with 12 mins left ( :? ) 8)

Great day... zero atmosphere... easy 3 points... I'm happy 8)

I should say though, that I wouldn't sit there again... too sleepy; but on Saturday, for an easy match against a poor team, on a nice sunny day, it suited me down to the ground.

In fact, I'll probably become a block 1 regular when I'm an old man 8)
