Arsenal Tattoo

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I have the 1970's cannon on my right shoulder (to the side, just above the bicep - this ain't no lady shoulder blade jobby  ) and I don't regret it for a moment. Got it done when we brought out the new crest.

But it is a reasonable size and high enough that a t-shirt will cover it. I'm not a big fan of tats on the forearms and neck because no matter how PC we all try to be, they can give a bad impression and are a bit too exhibitionist for me. Just my opinion, no offence intended to any fellow Gooners with such tats...

So, think long and hard before you get one, they DO hurt (how much depends on size, location and if coloured ink is used etc), they are more or less forever (the laser removal leaves scars which can look pretty bad) and they cost a fortune :? .

I'm considering getting "arsenal" or "gooner" above it but not too sure about that bit just yet.

I havea fresh tattoo at the moment - about 4 weeks old - and the pain from it is still very much in my mind, so I'm going to wait at least six months as after that time you start thinking "nah, it wasn't actually that bad"

Also need time for my bacne to clear up

i want that 1, but may get a smaller 1 on my arm, and the old crest. i have also thought of getting arsenal going across my back with the crest underneath it and gunners at the bottom.....but im only 21 so ill thinkin and still look around before then.....but will deffo get 1 in the near future

Nice tat Rilo - ive got tats but at the moment wouldent get an arsenal 1 - however if id ever get one it would definately be BIG and either just the cannon or that early AFC crest - but yeah would agree that its worth thinkin long and hard about it, and also do your research on artists before you get inked, make sure all the stuff they use is sterile and the needle is a new one. If your a Londoner, Frith Street Tatoos in Soho are top artists and worth checking out.

if you dont want to get a large size tattoo go for number 8 , its also a pretty simple design so the chances of a cockup is less .

When I was a kid my dad told me "If you ever get an earring or tattoo then you can FUCK OFF ! " Just remember if you get a player tattoo . Think of that poor Newcastle fan who got the Andy Cole tattoo on his leg then they sold him almost a few days after

I saw a fella at an oasis concert once, he has 7 Cantona tattooed on his back, the exact size as would be on the back of a shirt. What a mug.

Goonerben, do you know roughly how much frith street charge? I get mine done in Evil From The Needle in Camden, its £70 an hour there. It's good though as they always have great artists working there
