There are 62219 shares in Arsenal football club worth £529 million.

Stan owns 29.6%. of these =18.416 shares

62.219-18.416=43803 shares

Shares are selling between £8.500 and £9.500 each

So I would think Stan would need to offer more than £10.500 a share to the rest of the shareholders.

43.803x£10.500=£460 million give or take a few thounands of pounds for the rest of the shares in Arsenal football club

*this could all be wrong if my maths is not right!!!!

how and why?

surely not based on the evidence of other takeovers in the Premiership?

Best we can hope for is nothing changes.

Kroenke, if he takes over, won't be like Abramovich at Chelsea, or the Arabs at City. There's no way he'll throw £200m at the side every summer, just for amusement.

He'll be more like The Glazers or Hicks/Gilette... if he gives money to invest, it will be from the club's coffers. Potentially, we'll be pretty much debt-free in a few seasons, and we'll have more cash to splash.

Not quite true. He can't offer less than the highest share price in the last 12 months.

So to force a takeover he needs somewhere around the £460 million mark. The only place he will get that is from a bank borrowing on the back of what Arsenal are worth. So we may land up in the same position as L'poo

He said the only way a takeover could work is if he (Kroenke) had support from the majority shareholders.

He said there is now way he will get that from Lady Nina so he will need allies in both Usmanov and Kroenke.

Basically he was saying if Kroenke does not get Usmanov onside then it simply will not happen.

Could these two work together? They were both brought to the club by Dein in one fashion or another!
Ah, there you are!

Didn't realise it came with that caveat - in that case, Usmanov would make a killing on his investment? Surely he'd sell? (and yes, that would put us in the Liverpool/Man Utd model where the investor borrows money from the club in order to buy it. Not fucking good :banghead: )

To be fair stg, and I know this point is continually overlooked by all, but l'poo with up to their eyeballs in debt and by all accounts were not that far away from receivership before the yanks had ever got near their club. It is trendy for the victims fans to blame everything on the yanks and although they have certainly not helped I feel that there was already a troubled club there that they have only made worse
I heard Alan Brazil this morning. He thinks he is in the know and that Kroenke is just buying up shares in cahoots with Danny Fizman and the other Board members in order to keep the baby boiling Uzbekistani at bay.

There is no intention of a formal takeover. Kroenke see's us as a great investment and nothing else.

This is what I was desperately hoping to be the case, but it is coming from a fat alchoholic Jock. So who knows.
