Too many to count.
But I'll try to make you all envious.
So...after finishing school on November 4th, 2008.
First semester at uni started March 2nd, and finished June 23rd. So days off in there: 1 day every normal week (Sunday) + 7 days mid-sem break + 6 days stuvac. = 16 + 7 + 6 = 29
Then there was the holiday post-semester one = 29
Semester 2: 16 Sundays + 7 days mid-sem + 6 days Stuvac = 29
And after this friday...uni doesn't start again until March 1, 2010. = 92 (minus any weekdays I may have to work once uni is done)
And you get a total of 29+29+29+92=179 from the start of one year to the start of the next on the uni timetable.
And of course, during exams, like this week and last, I only go when I have an exam so most of those weeks are holidays.

europeans have easy schedules, either that or americans work too much. either way, i envy all the days off you get
i get every sunday off and every other saturday. then i get 3 vacation days a year plus 3 sick days, but sick days are not paid time off, they just don't fire you for not being there.

Do you really want me to post mine on here? i dont want to make anyone jealous! I get around 15 weeks off a year for summer holidays, easter, christmas etc... then add weekends into that, and i get a couple of study days here and there, oh and we usually have a staff development day each term which is a complete doss about...so quite a lot really!
and as far as holidays go, I had a week in lanzarote and a week in Menorca, both in August

Hard one to count up really, i work for myself so when really busy as i have been lately i may work 12-14 hours a day but then when finished a long project take a few days off.
I have only been away for a week this year to crete but have also had a few long weekends away like ireland a couple of months ago and in london the weekend just gone.
Go to the new forest as well in the summer for weekends.
When i worked for a company i nveer used all my holidays up and preferred to be paid for them but always had a 2 week summer holiday abroad.
Next year i have already booked up a 2 week holiday in thailand in march and 2 weeks in turkey in july. Seems a lot but my son is 18 next year and we scuba dive together so this is also part of his present.
So it can differ for me hugely depending on how i am doing in business, if the wife didn't push me to have holidays i probably wouldn't go, its a woman thing, holidays. They love to feel pampered and enjoy not having to do any cooking, cleaning, ironing, hoovering............list is endless
Still if they did all of the above in two's like they tell us they can it really isn't that much work.........is it ?8)

134 days including your weekends count. however, i have to take the 30 days off all at once, or i can sell 10 days for a few extra bucks and take only 20 off. next year, in september, i'll be flying to london to celebrate the treble with ya guys!!
and of the 226 workdays left, i spend around 100 posting on this forum, 26 looking for pictures of big asses to post (and to use as my avatar). that leaves me with 100 days work, which, removing the time i spend playing football manager and drinking coffee (i drink LOADS of coffee everyday) that leaves me with, hmmm, say, 4 or 5 workdays a year

Because of the work load last year, I had to carry over some holiday meaning I had 35 days regular holiday this year. Plus 104 weekend days. Plus 8 days public holiday (I think?). Oh, and I had three days off sick.

Its only just that i havent had 1 or 2 weeks off for god knows when.
I apreciate that as im a cabby my hours and holidays may be somewhat different from a person on paye.
I should have a full 1 week break somewhere relaxing to re-charge my batterys...Preferably next to a pool or on the beach.
Can anyone recommend anywhere with the sun on me back in january?
****, anywhere in the Canaries is nice and warm in January.
Not as cheap as it was, since the Euro got strong. I went in March. It was 50% dearer than last year.
You can still get some good deals. I always use a company called On The Beach. Highly recommend them.

Mrs Boomer's a teacher and one drunken night (don't ask why) me and a mate (who was dating a teacher) worked out that you get 93 days holiday a year!!!
That's not including weekends.

of course i can, gnuey! BRAZIL!
it is cheap for englishmen like yourself (not as much as it used to be, but it still is kinda cheap) and there's as much sun and heat as you could ever want. if you decide to do so, and decide to come to southern brazil, you also have a tour guide at your disposal
and, of course, a pal for sharing a few ales and watching arsenal matches. i can even look for hotels and stuff with good prices around here if ya want. just shout it and i can give you a hand.
what i DO NOT recommend is rio de janeiro and the northern beaches. i know, it's beautiful and famous, but it is too fucking dangerous. specially for guys like you who will have the word tourist written in your forehead!!
other nice alternative is uruguai. people don't talk much about it, but it is even cheaper than brazil and really really really beautiful. great beaches, great weather, nice towns etcetera. however, in uruguai, you won't find as many babes in small bikinis as in brazil
