I think people take a contraversial line sometimes just to be fasionable.

It is fashionable to rubbish the successful such as:-

The X factor
The Beatles
Crazy Frog
etc. etc. etc.

It is peoples way of saying "I am an individual and I don't follow the crowd. I am above that". Its all total bollocks really!

When I hear people talk about things like "Godfather was shite" I think, no it wasn't, you're just deliberately trying to be noticed. Similarly, the amount of gooners I hear saying "Ashley Cole is fucking shite". No he isn't, he's probably the best left back in the world!

I do wish people would be more honest with themselves and us!

Fair points, Spunkmuncher!

Except for X Factor. That is purile, manufactured shite of the lowest order. I'm old school when it comes to music and bands. A band should be formed in a garage or bedroom by three or four mates that have taken the time and effort to learn to play their instruments. They should rehearse, work hard at their music and do all those shitty little gigs. They should demo up and work at writing their own songs. I've been there and done that. Had fuck all success at it but enjoyed the experience mostly.

All this instant fame and money shite really gets on my nerves. The amount of money sucked out of the music industry by shitehawks like Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell so loud untalented cuntheads like Jedward can become milionaires is just wrong. It is sheep mentality at it's worst. "I'm telling you they are popular you must buy their rubbish". That money should go to helping struggling young bands.

I too hate people that will go pointlessly in the opposite direction as you suggest. The twats that will say things like "Full Metal Jacket is a shite movie" just to buck the trend or be argumentative.

On the Beatles/Stones thing it's the Stones for me by a long shot (just listen to The Jaggero singing Paint it Black or Angie and the hairs on the back of your neck will stand on end) but I do like alot of the latter day Beatles stuff too.

On the Cashley Cunthole thing I agree he is a fantastic left back, certainly in the top 3 in the world... but he is also a dispicable little crunt that married a thuggish Toon skanger and yet that skanger is still way above his punching weight as a person! :-P

I agree that the X-factor has a lot of shite aspects to it. More than good points actually but.......every now and then something good happens.
Regardless of whether you like Leona Lewis' type of music there is one thing that cannot be denied. That girl can sing!!
Some people need that kind of break. The guy on this years one that has the afro for example. He's tried every avenue in his life and not got noticed. Now he's been on there his career might take off. The down side of course is the likes of Jedward and that ugly, mule-faced, fat, lezzer, sweaty sock, Michelle McDonalds

It does seem to me though that people like to rubbish the obviously good stuff sometimes to be 'cool'. Like rubbishing the Beatles. What a cock you have to be to say they are shite!!!! Say they were not to your taste by all means, but shite???? Do me a favour  If they were shite they would have sold less records than Dexy's Midnight Runners. But they didn't did they? They sold fucking gazillions of them. When people then claim they are shite it just makes them look like twats really.

Oh yeah, and it's MR Spunkmuncher to you.......frankslop

Only thing by and large these days about the music industry is that, mostly, what is 'popular' is determined by the record companies and television entities such as X-Factor while the real talent are forced to be independent, supported only by a comparatively small, devout following.

Seems very unfair.

Not true either is it!

Don't get me wrong, I'm no great fan of the show, but don't try and tell me that Welsh lad was singing in a fake American accent

Your statement is exactly the type of sweeping generalisation I was talking about.

All the people who have won it and the 3 that are left sing in laughable American accents.

I even remember them telling that Leon Jackson cünt to "tone down your Scottish accent a bit", ie. put on a stupid American one.

But they don't do they? That is the point!!!!!!

I can totally understand Leon Jackson being told to tone down a strong scottish accent though and believe he probably was.

They do though, that's the point!!!!!!!

None of them sing in their own regional UK accents and put on ludicrous mid-Atlantic ones!!!!!!!

And yes, the Scottish accent shouldn’t be heard anywhere outside of Scotland!
