I got both, as wanted to see if FIFA could cut the mustard...it's good, but it's not PES
gamer tag is same as on here if anyone fances a game.

Used to play PES religiously, but I don't think the latest versions were as good as FIFA now.

Pro Evo was far better than FIFA for years, but now FIFA is much improved and is definitely better

That's the general opinion from most people I've heard!
However, I've always been a pro player so it's difficult to make the switch across.
It's a bit like the old Champ-man games. When SI split with Eidos, sensible gamers knew the game was down to the acurate database and moved to the newly named Football manager.
