As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Well if they don't confirm it's on - then I'll assume it's off. I'm not repeating last night's fiasco.
On Arsenal.com now, there isn't any mention of an apology for last night and no mention of the Everton game and whether they think it's likely to go ahead !
And incidentally Cheers to whichever of the moderating team relegated my little anecdote to the Basement in 10 seconds flat, rather than giving it a run for it's money ! Anyone would think I was criticizing the Club and suggesting they don't give a toss about us

Wasn't me. But I would doubt it was because it was offensive to the club's sensibilities... aren't many rosetinters on the mod team...
All joking and wind-ups aside, the FA face the possibility of 100's of thousands of fans setting off on the roads on Saturday morning, not knowing whether games are set to go ahead or not, and the outcry if most of these games are postponed a couple of hours beforehand.
That's why I think they will on the advice of the police take the safe option of Calling off the entire football programme in England this weekend.
It's not just the condition of the pitches and surrounding area they have to take into consideration, but also the traffic on the roads and the possibility of the road conditions deterioratong throughout the day.

Exactly!!
Years ago it was "sweep the white lines, get the orange ball out and f**k the fans". Not literally, obviously, as that would take too long - except at Chelsea in the 80s when they only got titchy little crowds, nouveau riche wankers!! A couple of old slappers (Jordan & Jodie Marsh perhaps. . . .) could've given all of them executive relief in the half-time break and still had time for a Bovril!!
I can't see how the concourse areas outside the ground are going to pass the elf 'n' safety test, especially as even colder weather is being widely forecast.
If it gets called off - on the plus side it allows us time to get Cesc, Arshavin and others fit AND it's 2 games that Alex Song should be back for.
On the minus side - where the hell are we gonna fit these games later in the season? And if we get a fixture pile-up, our squad will be stretched to breaking point.
25 out of 34 Saturday games in Divisions 2, 3 & 4 (in old money) have already been called off.
Worryingly most of them are because of conditions outside the grounds, not just frozen pitches. All the undersoil heating in the world won't beat the leftie elf 'n' safety tossers on Islington Council.
Forecast now says down to -5 tonight and tomorrow night and snow on Saturday. I'll be super surprised if the Everton match goes ahead.

what you mean like now, and ermmm every fecking winter...
hopefully get a decent atmosphere like the villa game, crowd seemed to really get behind the team rather than the groans which usaully go around the ground as soon as one of the easy targets makes a mistake!
