STOKE CITY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I prey to god Diaby is fit, the addition of Song, Diaby, Vermuelen and Bendtner will be a massive boost!

Its about time we gave Stoke a real good hiding, the reality is they are a shit football club, there timewasting and footballing tactics are a joke. The way in which every throw in they have a towel, they hoof and clog there way to results and constantly get lucky.

I'd love to absolutly smash these wankers and prove all doubters wrong, we can battle and by god we will have to to win this one..

I'll go 3-1 Arsenal. If we are to stay in the race this is a must win.

It's obvious how Stoke will play - throw ins dead balls etc.,

We should put some physical presence into our team. Eboue, Sol, Ramsey and Bendtner must start. Pity Diaby won't be available. We'll have to roll our sleeves up and battle for this.

It wasn't mentioned yesterday on motd or sky, but i realised with fabregas getting booked yesterday by that wa**er bennett, cesc is now on 5 yellow cards, and thought that would mean a 1 game suspension meaning he will miss stoke away?

Cannot see anything here on fa disciplinary page

Here confirms cesc has 5 yellow cards

With this being one of the hardest games of our run in, and the need to break them down next week on a narrow pitch i hope the ban comes into play for the following weekend where we play burnley at home.

Cannot stand everything about stoke, ive been there twice and had to travel back after 2 losses. There throws ins and how long do the refs allow delap to take to get his towel, dry the ball and throw it? If we were to stand there with the ball, on a throw in, the same amount of time, the ref would probably book our player or give the throw the other way.

Third time lucky, hopefully next week, revenge time :barscarf:

You don't get suspended for 5 yellows anymore, the deadline has passed. I think you get suspended for 8 or 10 yellows now.

Fact is we need to send out a crystal clear message with this game. We need to rip a new hole in their arse and get this monkey off our backs once and for all.

Let's not worry about them and their one trick pony and go at the throat :barscarf:

I thoguht he was suspended as well but the amnesty has kicked in so it's only when he gets to 10 bookings before he automatically gets a 2 game ban.

This will be tough, and the sad thing is I can see us lose quite easily.

Evening game at Stoke, usually doesn't bode well (I have this theory that we're crap oop north if the weather is anything bar perfect and it's not a 3pm kickoff) but will go with an optimistic 1-1. We'll concede an early goal from a set piece as per usual but will rescue a point.

stoke = midlands :banghead:

we were good away at bolton, wolves, and everton and liverpool. no reason to fear the little potters of stoke 8)

No doubt, however I believe this is a true 'must win' game, so 3 points there would perhaps give us the belief to go on a good run of form and just maybe sneak home under the radar.
