I'd just started to get my head round to the idea of having some national pride under Capello especially after taking the armband from Captain Chav and now this
What is this clogger of a lamp-post doing in the England squad. What with Terry's majestic form, Ferdinand's old man back and the never good enough Upson it's worth £100 on us not getting out of the group
And by the way Mr. Shawcross - stick those crocodile tears where the sun don't shine boy and make sure you're hiding many miles away when your crock of shit little outfit come to town next year

Totally agree, he was a little late in the challenge but up till then I think his reading of the game and the timing of his tackles had been good in that game and others I've seen him in.Sadly no consolation for young Ramsey.hugh jardon wrote:Shawcross is quality and the sort of player Arsenal are crying out for. He fully deserves his England call up.
All defenders will do a dodgy tackle now and then but you know the ones that go out to hurt a player or are just shit defenders. Shawcross IMO is neither of those. Still can't see how Ridgwell didn't get done for his tackle on Walcott at the Grove or how he went in 2 footed yesterday and wasn't even booked.

So the Engerland game is this Wednesday right?
So how can the FA condone the selection of a player that is currently on a 3 match ban for violent conduct?
Nothing against Shawcross personally here, just the principal. If a player is on a domestic ban he should not be permitted to play at international level.
It goes to show what a bunch of fucking hypocrites the FA really are!

That was a disgraceful tackle I don't think the ref even spoke to the *word censored*. We have these *word censored* soon, away, and you can just imagine that Ferguson's disciple will have them up and snarling for this game, and it wouldn't surprise me if were on the end of another bad injury in this game also.topgoon wrote:Totally agree, he was a little late in the challenge but up till then I think his reading of the game and the timing of his tackles had been good in that game and others I've seen him in.Sadly no consolation for young Ramsey.hugh jardon wrote:Shawcross is quality and the sort of player Arsenal are crying out for. I might be mistaken but wasn't it Shawcross that fouled Adebayor last season, after Adebayor's momentum had taken him off the pitch??
It may have been Wilkinson but my memory is that Shawcross followed through on the tackle even after Adebayor had been forced off the pitch. The tackle turned his ankle over and led to him being subbed - all part of the Stoke (or any small club) agenda to kick lumps out of Arsenal.
Anyone else remember this??
I won't say what I want to say in case it wasn't Shawcross . . . . . . . .

Just read a few articles that confirm Shawcross did indeed foul Adebayor last season, after Ade had shepherded the ball of the pitch.
Ryan "Good honest pro" Shawcross saw fit to carry on with his "tackle" and turn Adebayor's ankle over about 2 feet off the pitch, ending Adebayor's match.
I'm sure that Ryan "he loves his Mum" Shawcross was very sorry about that as well.
And I'm also sure that Ryan "Just not that kind of player" is feeling pretty bad today - just not as bad as Aaron Ramsey must be feeling though.
Shawcross is typical of the shit, one-dimensional English footballers that infest our league and it says everything about our national team if he is good enough for a call up - he wouldn't get a job cleaning boots for the Italians / French / Brazilians / Germans etc. etc.
