He's only a better player because he's older. I think in time theo will be better than SWP. Plus SWP's style of play doesn't really suit us. He runs at the defender and puts crosses in... not really the way we play!
I think if we were ever going to buy him, we would've done it before he went to the chavs.

I like him and i think he'd fit in with our style very well, he's very comfortable on the ball and he links very well with his team mates, he can beat a player with skill and not just outright pace which gives him more options..he's a far better footballer than Theo ever will be..
My only reservation is he's another munchkin a lightweight, too similar to AA and Nasri, other than that i think he would be a far better option than theo given the choice..

I agree, but i'm working on the principal of like for like, i don't think there would be any point in getting rid of theo if we were not going to replace him with something similar, but better...Our other needs although more pressing, are a seperate issue that no doubt our manager will again decline to address..marcengels wrote:We don't need him, more important areas to concern ourselves with.

Yes he would be an improvement...realsan wrote:Always want what other people have...
Would SWP actually be an improvement on Walcott? Probably not and at least Theo has time on his side.
You can only beat what is in front of you and Theo caused Burnley problems yesterday, more of the same against Porto I hope.
He caused Burnley problems..thats OK then... that more than makes up for the 5 out of 6 games that he plays that he is anonymous.
Bjesus no wonder half our unproven players are on bumper contracts if all they have to do is put in one good performance against a bottom of the table team to warrant great praise..
Yes all you can do is beat whats put in front of you..the problem is Theo rarely does that

I knew where you were coming from but I'm working on the basis that AW has only limited concentration when it comes to transfers and any waste of time like this would fuck up the 1% chance of getting real issues addressed.Bergkamp-Genius wrote:I agree, but i'm working on the principal of like for like, i don't think there would be any point in getting rid of theo if we were not going to replace him with something similar, but better...Our other needs although more pressing, are a seperate issue that no doubt our manager will again decline to address..marcengels wrote:We don't need him, more important areas to concern ourselves with.

Yea but you know he's a bit like a child, he likes his sweets, but he doesn't like his greens...if he's got money in his pocket he's far more likely to buy some more sweets with it than he is some much needed greens....if you know what i meanquote="marcengels"]I knew where you were coming from but I'm working on the basis that AW has only limited concentration when it comes to transfers and any waste of time like this would fuck up the 1% chance of getting real issues addressed.Bergkamp-Genius wrote:I agree, but i'm working on the principal of like for like, i don't think there would be any point in getting rid of theo if we were not going to replace him with something similar, but better...Our other needs although more pressing, are a seperate issue that no doubt our manager will again decline to address..marcengels wrote:We don't need him, more important areas to concern ourselves with.
