HOW DID YOU END UP A FOOTBALL FAN AND ARSENAL SUPPORTER?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Both mum and dad are Londoners and many generations before them. Dads family are all The Arsenal, my mums are Millwall. Took my dads lead on that one and i guess at that age i got lucky!!
Would feel a little different on away days me thinks....

The FA cup final with Chelski (back then just chelsea) was probably the start.

Been a fan since 1991, just before we won the league, couple of my best mates at school were Gooners, I hadn't picked a team by them and decided to join the group...no regrets :D got so many m8s who are gooners so was not a terrible decision...and love watching the team, live, down the pub or at home :barscarf:

old man supports them so copied him. apparently watched 89' anfield game on telly with him but i can't remember it, gutted! earliest memory was being so proud of our 91 league record, only losing the once, immense.

got to go watch hammers game on sat with my dad as well, so happy he supported a great team!

I loved Pat Jennings, but couldn't bring myself to follow Sp*rs, and when he signed for Arsenal (and I still remember the date - 12 August, 1977) I became an instant Gooner.
Everyone in NZ supported Liverpool and Man utd in those days and I didn't want to support a bandwagon club.
The only other club I considered was Leeds.
Never looked back.

First time I can recall really watching a football game was the 1982 World cup final with Paolo Rossi when I was 10 and I've been a football fan since. I started supporting the Arsenal in 1990 and haven't looked back. I remember watching the Nayim goal in my shitty student flat in Dundee.

Sadly, my older brother supports the shitty half of North London and he's only got the 5-1 aberration to hold over me. Even more sadly my Dad's a Manure fan,but I let him off as he has been since the 70s when they were shite.

so i picked Arsenal just to be the opposite to him - it could of been worst Tottenham could of been in the final and i could of been a spuds fan

so fate bought me and Arsenal together
Could have been like someone I know.....age 5 and surrounded by manc fans at school, he decided on the team who he thought had the funniest name.......West Ham....

i'm not a true supporter. i should fuck off and support my local team

i'm a football fan ever since i was born in brazil

i started following arsenal the day we signed my favourite player at the time, dennis bergkamp. around 98 i started "supporting" the club by reading post match reviews online and watching the goals and sometimes highlights on tv (it was all i could do)
 and in 2001 the matches started being broadcasted here, so i started watching all games and became a true supporter. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
