Easier maybe, but will it taste as good? :rubchin: :rubchin: You see most of the time is spent getting the sauce ready, and if you get that tasting right, you're almost guaranteed a good - nay great - lasagna. 8)

The added bonus is that you can use any sauce left-over to make Spaghetti Bolognese - therefore you get 2 dishes for the price of 1!!. :barscarf: :lol: :wink:

If you want perfection use all fresh ingredients (even chop your own tomatoes) i'm always perfectly happy with my passata, mince, dried herbs combo for sauces, but doing it with all fresh stuff makes a huge difference (i'm guessing money no object on this one as you've been out four times in a week), also try using crosier dishes as opposed to a metal baking tray, this may sound weird but it makes a real difference to the taste.
