Mourinho Sacked?
And this is what bbc.co.uk have:
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has sensationally left Stamford Bridge, according to BBC Radio 5live football correspondent Jonathan Legard.
The news comes just 24 hours after the disappointing Champions League draw against Rosenborg.
Legard understands that Mourinho has texted senior players, including skipper John Terry, with the news of his departure from Stamford Bridge.
There has been no official word so far from the Premiership club.
More to follow.

From Wikipedia:
"There are only two ways for me to leave Chelsea. One way is in June 2010 when I finish my contract and if the club doesn't give me a new one. It is the end of my contract and I am out. The second way is for Chelsea to sack me. The way of the manager leaving the club by deciding to walk away, no chance! I will never do this to Chelsea supporters." - when asked if success in the Carling Cup final might mean the last trophy he would win for Chelsea.
So much for that, eh Jose?
Wanker!

The Times says he's gone. It's really getting around now. Sky Sports reckon a senior Chelsea player has told them he has been SACKED and not resigned. Oh dear!
This has got to be one of the fastest growing threads in Gooner history! I've got to say, it seemed like he'd be there forever. Oh well! We'll give some of the Gooners something nice to wake up to!

Am trying to work out what Chelsea do now:
New manager - Hiddink? Nicking the manager of the Russian team would be a bit of a patriotism problem for Abramovich, even if he does pay Hiddink's wages. Juande Ramos? Maybe, and he could be interviewed tonight before he heads back to Seville. Anyone else available/nickable? There's always Neil Warnock...
Lampard - out?
Shevchenko - stays?
Anyone else likely to head out?

Sky are saying the reason for the sacking is his summer recruitment and sales. Can't say the players brought in (Alex, Sidwell, Pizarro, Malouda) were too bad, so perhaps it's the sales.
Much as I hope Diarra works out for us, I don't think that was a problem but I do think getting rid of Glen Johnson and the keeper who went to Hibs could be the ones referred to - because both sales undermined the Champs' League squad. Both players qualified as club trained and could have freed up spots for Michael Ballack and Scott Sinclair. It would have meant they would have had a full 25 man squad (plus some rookies for back up) rather than the 23 they were limited to.
Perhaps Abramovich was more pissed off than anyone knew about the fuck up in working out which players qualified and which didn't.
For more, here's my boring post from a while ago:
You might know about this already, but it's always good to laugh at those tossers down at The Bridge.
The real reason Chelsea didn't include Ballack in their Champs' League squad is because they didn't read the UEFA rule book properly. To explain, I have to get into the rules, which is a bit boring. But it's worth it, to understand how those smug tits managed to lumber Chelsea with a smaller squad than everyone else and had to omit Ballack and Scott Sinclair. To make matters better, the situation will be even worse for Chelsea next year (if they qualify).
The rules:
1. Clubs can submit a squad of 25 A List players plus as many B List players as they want. B List players are 21 or under and have been at the club for at least 2 years. Cesc is one of our B List players.
2. 6 of the 25 A List spots are reserved for locally trained players (at least 3 for those trained by the club).
Chelsea only have one player who counts as club trained (Terry), so they could only name 23 players (plus 2 inexperienced reserves as B List players). We on the other hand have at least 7 (and possibly up to 11) senior/senior-ish players who qualify, and some of them (like Cesc) qualify as B List too. So, we got to put in our entire senior squad of 25 plus another 3 B List players (i.e. in addition to Cesc). AND, if we sign someone in January, we still have a spare A List place, so can put that player in straight away, whereas Chelsea would have to displace one of the senior players to accommodate a signing.
No other club in the Champs' League managed to screw up like Chelsea, everyone else got their entire senior squad in.
The situation gets worse for Chelsea next year, because the number of places reserved for locally trained players increases from 6 to 8.
Ha ha ha ha! Twats! Another reason to congratulate Arsene - top man!

A taste of what Chavski wankers are saying (from http://www.chelseablog.com/2007/09/20/b ... ment-14237):
A few hours ago I was sure there was no chance Jose would be going.
I was wrong.
How did it come to this? Was he pushed? Did he jump? Who will take over?
I was shocked when Vialli went a few games into the season, but this has definitely stunned me.
Jose has been our most successful manager, and although he polarised a lot of fans - even our own at times - his record cannot be erased. There will not be another special one, and please, NOT Avram Grant as the new manager.
A sad day that makes all the talk about a ‘big family’ sound hollow.
You know why the opposition fans will be gloating? because they know we’ve lost one of our biggest assets.
I’m disappointed that this has become a season of transition, if not a complete back-to-the-drawing-board exercise.
The tabloids will join the broadsheets in a mass ejaculation.
I still can’t believe it =(

Poor Jose is gonna be brought to a remote region of Russia where snow will be forced down his throught until he chokes on it. By the time hes found the snow will have melted and the cause of death will remain unknown.
Pictures of the corpse will be 'accidently' thrown in amongst the paperwork of the next coaches contract.

HAVE TO SAY I'M SHOCKED, BUT VERY, VERY HAPPY

I PROBABLY WON'T TOTALLY BELIEVE IT UNTIL I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING AND THERE HAS BEEN WRITTEN/VERBAL CONFIRMATION FROM THE CHAVS.
ARE CHELSEA SELF-DESTRUCTING?

YES HE HAS HAD THE BENEFIT OF MILLIONS OF POUND NOTES AT HIS DISPOSAL AND THAT HAS CERTAINLY MADE THINGS EASIER, BUT SO HAVE OTHER MANAGERS WHO HAVE NOT MANAGED TO ACHIEVE WHAT HE HAS.
ANOTHER BONUS OF HIM LEAVING IS THAT THE PLAYERS ARE SURE TO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE NEWS AND SOME MIGHT EVEN LOOK TO MOVE ON!

WHAT AN EVENING IT HAS BEEN: ARSENAL WIN 3-0 AGAINST SEVILLE; ESPN 442 RE-RUNS THE ARSENAL'S 5-0 VICTORY OVER THE SPUDS FROM 1978 (REMEMBER? LIAM BRADY'S WONDER GOAL, AND MOTSON'S ONLY DECENT ARSENAL COMMENTRY!). I THEN WATCH A COUPLE OF EPISODES OF SOUTH PARK AND WHEN I TUNE INTO SKY SPORTS NEWS TO CATCH THE MORNING BACK-PAGE HEADLINES, I'M GREETED BY THE SHOCK NEWS FROM CHAVSKIVILLE!!

I'M NOT SURE HOW MY DAY CAN HAVE BEEN TOPPED OFF BETTER - OTHER THAN WINNING THE LOTTO

P.S. (BREAKING NEWS AT 1.44AM)
IT'S TRUE!! IT HAS JUST BEEN CONFIRMED BY CHELSEA'S WEBSITE.

It's official - from CFC website:
"Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have agreed to part company today (Thursday) by mutual consent."
That's it, no explanation or detail.
3-0 win over our likely nearest rivals in Champs' League Group, top of the league AND Chelsea imploding - am I already asleep and dreaming??
Well, I guess the Usmanov/Dein threat is a bit of a reality check. But perhaps this is the beginning of the end of Abramovich's funding for this minor club? Oh please God...
Anyway, I'm off to bed - enjoy the papers in the morning!
