Didn't Romario reach some sort of milestone? (1000 goals?) but that was a bit controversial for some reason - I think I heard he's included plenty of friendlies and stuff. Maybe even goals scored in his back garden!

exactly. pele's mark is more than 90% from official matches, but romario's is ridiculous. some brazilian magazine researched romario's carreer and found out the he actually scored around 750 official goals, which to be fair is not a bad mark.

Romario played in the A-League.
I think some of the goals he scored on FIFA counted to his tally too.

(But only when he played on Legendary mode to be fair...)
