Still looking shit defensively

I love how a "good" game for Almunia is conceding two goals and only being spared a third courtesy of a woeful penalty.

Are you blaming him for either of the goals ?

Both players free from 6 yards out ?

Come on now almunia isnt a great keeper but to even say he should of save the two goals is stupid.

I'm not blaming him, no. Just found it ironic.

Hilarious that people say give Djourou time.........he's ALWAYS been dodgy why has he suddenly become decent when fit?
It's only a couple of friendlies yes but our defending is a pointer to the new season and it looks exactly the same as least season and today was against a Celtic reserve team, jesus it won't get any easier than that! It doesn't look good people, even if we sign another CB.
The fact that he played both keepers really suggests that he won't be changing them.

We need experience at CB not fucking potential. As for the keepers we cannot start the season with either Almunia or Flappy in goal. Schwarzer is not the greatest but leaves these two clowns well behind.
The way Celtic reserves cut us apart in the last 20 mins was scary

Gibbs - Kos - Djourou - Eboue

That was our back four last 20, and will not be our first choice back four come the season, there is atleast 3 bench players there maybe even 4 if we sign another CB. Add to that a 18 year olf defensive midfielder infront of them with no first team experience.

Question :How does a player with potential gain experience ?

( For your answer see:- Long term Barcelona strategy bearing fruit after years in Real- spunk all our cash up the wall because we're bank rolled by the Government-Madrid's shadow ! )

Nuver question : How many Barca players were in the world cup winning side and the side that spanked the England under 19's ?

Thank christ Wenger and The Board ( Que US-stick to sports played with your hands-Martin  ) isn't as short sighted and clueless as half of the cheese dicks that post here.

Am I wrong ? ( I'll answer that ) NOOOO :barscarf:

Agreed - what's scary though is unless we really bring some more defensive veterans in we're just a couple of injuries from that being our back four and defensive central midfield and given how many injuries we've picked up the last two years, its not hard seeing us needing to win some key matches - whether in a campaign to win the Premiership or just to hold onto the last CL place - with a team like that back there. And I haven't even mention that its increasingly likely that either of the two clowns in goal will be behind them. Oh dear...

And that just should be unacceptable to all of us.

Famous last words Louder. I hope you're right but if you're wrong what then? My guess is you won't be nearly as eager to discuss things then, eh?

Campbell was our best defender by a country mile for the back end of last season.

I wouldn't discuss the colour of orange juice with you, Neil !
Only joking. If i'm misguided I will, as I'm sure Arsene will, hold my hands up say I was wrong. But the club will still be stable and here for the 'fans' to suport, follow, love, criticis(z)e, claim to know more than, disrespect......whatever, for year to come. Everyone's a winner :barscarf: :barscarf:

Djourou will need time to get back up to pace, it isn't easy to be a year out of footie and just prance right back. In the mean time a strong quality defender MUST be signed before the window is closed.

Absolutely. Indeed that's how players stay injured is when they aren't allowed to recover fully and properly. Unless we let him come back slowly he's likely to spend the whole year going in and out of the physio room.
