LIVERPOOL AWAY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Imo m8.

Can't see Fabianski being handed a starting spot after today.

Love the top two posts on this page. In response to the 'Who's gonna play in goal then' question, somebody responds:

"Gunnersaurus".

The next post, completely unrelated:

"We're stuffed then".

I hope Almunia gets the nod, he's better than Flappy and I'm not sure giving a teenager in Szczesny, his PL debut at Anfield is the best idea.
Wenger wrote:"Tomorrow (AKA Legia Warsaw match) Fabianski has another opportunity to show that he can play No 1."
If Flappy starts next sunday than Wenger's comments to the press are not valid anymore..

So the teams likely to be:

Almunia, Sagna, Vermaelen Koscielny, Clichy, Nasri, Frimpong?, Wilshere/ Walcott?, Rosicky, Arshavin, Chamakh.

We could end up with a complete reverse of last seasons opener.

I think Eboue might just have played his way into the team ahead of Rosicky. Also, Flappy has surely played his way OUT of the team, and left a clear run for Almunia to start his 3rd (or 4th? ) season as number 1.

So....

Almunia (by default)

Sagna
Koscielny (Djourou must be scratching his head!)
Vermaelen
Clichy

Wilshere/Frimpong (tough call - Frimpongs defending, or Wilshere's overall quality?)
Song (if he's even half fit, he has to play!)
Nasri

Eboue
Chamakh
Arshavin

Fab and RVP aren't officially ruled out so I expect them both to start.

Didn't Arsene say they both won't be in the squad?

If Fabregas is in Mexico on Wednesday night, there's no chance he'll be playing on Sunday.

Or anytime before October, probably. Bring Back Pires knows.
