You have some good points and compared to many clubs we are lucky. But were 1 or 2 players short of being Champions. We have the funds to buy these 1 or 2 players as it wouldnt have to cost the world.northbankbren wrote:Too many expect too much.....
We are so privaliged its unreal!!!!!!
Was at qpr today and so many asked me about the anti-wenger calls on talk sport and I was asked too many times why our fans moan so much.
And its true. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO BE GOONERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is not our divine right to be champions every season. And years like the past few make the glory ones that little bit sweeter.
People are too quick to forget how lucky we are......we're spoilt.
But our Manager does not see the need for it.
I dont want to finish 4th every year

No we shouldnt and we should be open with our frustration's, its our rite as paying fans. But lets not get over the top about wenger being shit is my point. He is our greatest manager EVER!!!!I Hate Hleb wrote:So just because we're not as shit as some/most other clubs, we should be happy to put up with the inadequacies, yeah?![]()

That's the equivalent of saying that next time we get a dodgy take-away, rather than complain we should just be happy that we're more fortunate than the starving masses in Africa and elsewhere around the world!!![]()
Yes he/we havent been at our best the last few years but that happens. As a boy I had to wait a lot longer than 5 years to see us win the league, so for me im not happy, but im more than happy to live with our predicament, better than: 99% of every club in this country!!!!
Visit any lower league club and remember how fortunate we are. Were not the only one's ripped off either!!!!We moan about not winning the premier league and that is a great place to be.

As a fan i think i would rather know what the limit of my team is. For example knowing your not good enough to win the leauge or a championship side as you spoke about. Arsenal have turned into a team that can nearly do it but wont ever, unless the Manager changes and buys needed players.
We are a maybe team, a team that has no ambition anymore other than getting 3rd or 4th. We dont care about glory for the fans anymore, just money in the bank. And Wenger is in this plan.

Who ever said we did??northbankbren wrote:It is not our divine right to be champions every season.

It's as if you've completely misunderstood why people are frustrated. It's nothing to do with devine right. That's a ridiculous comment.
By the way, Bren - I know this whole Cesc thing has hit you harder than most, but fuckin hell mate, your 'location' is just cringeworthy. You need to get over it, you big girl - it's embarassing!

Adding to Lethals comment we are a couple of players away from becoming real contenders.. But once again we go into Premier League season with an unbalanced squad.. We have players galore in offensive positions and a real lack of quality at the back, which showed last season with ridiculous amount of goals conceded but scored more goals than any other team at the half way stage..
Nothing has been done to rectify this, instead we strengthened our attacking options and neglected the defence, Thanks Arsene

Peopel engage in this denusion that the Board are ready or willing to sack the manager and replace with an experienced quality manager. If they are what are they waiting for? They don't want the money spent and they have a manager who won't fight them to spend it. They will not sack him because he is not refusing to spend the money that is available.
They will not sack him because he refuses to demand the Board actually prove that money is available by paying more competitive wages to the current players and to players we need to add. He is doing at worst exactly what they want and giving them plausible deniability.
What would any of you care to bet that we do not get a new manager who is nort already at Arsenal or someone like Tony Adams? We will not get any toop managers unless they just come for a big wage because no top manager will enter a sitation where failure is almost certain because of the lack of investment. If you believe otherwise you are deluding yourselves I fear.

By the way how can it bedown to the manager refusing to spend money when you have insisted previously either the decision not to invest more until the debt on the stadium is paid off and/or the decison not to compete with other big clubs financially until the new financial fair play rules go into effect is the reason or are the reasons we aren't spending more?QuartzGooner wrote:Spot on.Lethal wrote:the problem is we are NEAR but the reason we cannot take the last few steps is WENGER

Were not talking spending 100 mil here mate. 5 mil on a keeper and 10-15 mil on a Proven CB. We were told we have the money for this and wenger said he would. He then buys a skinny polish guy who looks like he will be ready to play in the prem in 2018.
There is no exscuse for not getting a keeper, none at all. This is down to WENGERS blind faith and the fact he is a complete prick!
He is stubborn and making us a fucking joke!
I hope so much he gets really bad abuse from the fans this season.

Really? Wearing your Arsenal shirt were you? Sorry, don't believe you at all.Was at qpr today and so many asked me about the anti-wenger calls on talk sport and I was asked too many times why our fans moan so much.
Wenger HATES being told what to do, he hates being told by the board - hence his comments when he came to the club that he would not work under a board that interferes. The board are happy to qualify for the CL spending peanuts so are delighted to let Wenger carry on.
In the meantime we pay the highest average ticket prices in world football while this prick of a man plays incompetent muppets.....and that's what the likes of Almunia, Flappy and Denilson are. As soon as anyone dare criticise or question, Wenger goes into defence mode (which is quite hilarious as he doesn't believe in that normally)!

Stubborn isn't the word, if this squad doesn't get improved significantly in the next few weeks we are fucked this season, completely.
I have to laugh when people talk about what Wenger has done.....that's HISTORY, for the last 5 years he's made no progress. He did fantastic for this club in his first 8 years but is now destroying all of that with the shit that he's playing now.

I agree with the OP on some counts however a few people writing on internet forums hardly qualifies as the majority. Having attended 2 pre-season games ( Barnet & ACMilan) it didn't take long for the "One Arsene...." chants to start up and it's clear the masses are still very much members of The Cult Of Arsene. If 2 late season collapses & 3 shit keeper haven't turned them then I don't know what will. A very depressing thought I know but sadly true.
