your favourite Charity Shield match

Correct. We were a goal down at half time, and Kanu and Parlour both scored for us in the second half.

I actually quite miss the days of the Charity Shield actually meaning something (or at least, being a proper match). But Wenger turned up, made it into an absolute farce with, and now every other manager seems to have followed suit.

Could have sworn Wenger was there in 99?! But get your point. It was the prestige of being in it.

My first Charity Shield was against the Mousers after we won the league in 1989 and it meant something then (we lost that day 1-0)
