Squillaci on his way to Arsenal???

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

More stop gap, washed up, Silvestre/Cygan type players. I can see our rivals quivering

His best years were in Monaco, the team that reached the finals thanks to Morientes.

Thanks for the info Vince, always good to have the FRENCH CONNECTION.

Think Squillacci played against us in the 2008 Amsterdam tournament for Sevilla.

Heard the name but do not know too much about him.

He's more a strong in the air, tough, aggressive center half than Koscielny. He's got much more experience aswell (he's international, won many titles with Lyon, won the Spanish Cup last season with Seville, played a Champion's League final with Monaco ...). But he's not as comfortable as Vermaelen and Kocielny with the ball.

It's ironic that I read an article on the Online Gooner site several days ago in which somebody was praying for the day when we'd once again sign someone he didn't have to Wikipedia to find out about.

And yet here we are.

Presumably its all part of Arsene's dastardly plan to win the inter-league managers scrabble tournament? :D
