Meh, Coyle is one of the more likable managers in the premier league. Of course he's furious with what he deemed a harsh red card (we'd be extremely fucked off if we had that go against us), after a free kick not given to them.

He doesn't seem to send players out to hoof us off the pitch - Robinson and Davies are stalwarts of Fat Sam's Bolton, Cahill is a much lesser evil who was wrong footed by some pretty sublime skill. The ref would have been better off playing advantage to us, taking time to assess whether Chamakh was injured (he wasn't; his first reaction once he hit the floor was to see if Arshavin got his pass), then book Cahill and give him a warning.

I have to take issue with the gutless mugs on Goals on Sunday. I dont mind Coyle, although the only thing he was right about was that Song fouled their man before the red card. However, he kept saying that it could've been a penalty when it was clearly outside the box, then when he said he needed to see the Robinson-Diaby "tackle" again,why not show it again?!!!
Wenger gets slated for saying things like this,yet theyre paying him for his views and dont replay the worst tackle of the day! It was exactly the same story with AlLARDyce the season before last when he was on the show. They didnt ask him for his opinion on Diouff going in late on Almunia or Pederson diving when no-one was near him! Typical media bias towards English managers.

Owen Coyle is a great manager.

Firstly, he's an appreciator and supporter of "good football", the kind that Arsenal plays and preaches. He's turning Bolton from a team of long-ball playing giants into a team that can orchestrate some passes and play a forward-thinking game. He doesn't send players out to kick people off the pitch (that's Robinson's and Davies own doing) and he has always been very respectful of Wenger and Arsenal.

He also worked wonders with Burnley, and after they went up, he continued to play entertaining football instead of regressing into your typical 10-man defense, counter attack that you see a lot of small clubs employ.

Plus, you name me one manager in the Premiership who could actually play in a game with his reserve team.

He's going to stick up for his team, just like Wenger does (and has), and he can't really be expected to do otherwise. But he's a classy guy and I definitely have no problems with him; there are much worse managers in the league (*cough* Pulis, Allardyce)

Agree, he had a right to be angry because they probably deserved a free kick on the edge of the box before Cahill's card.

OC gets his team playing, I think the mentality is in the Bolton players, a lot of them still have Fat Sam and ging Mourinho, Megsons physical kick-em up in the air mentality whilst he gets his players to play.

The game is just developing a bit of a rep especially with Mark Davies injury last season from Gallas which he should have been booked for and Diaby's tackle on Campos and Steinsson over the years. Though how Kevin Davies ever finishes a game without a red card is beyond me

I like coyle and understand fully where he's coming from, even if there are other incidents within that game that he is purposefully neglecting.

This guy took a big drop in my estimation of him.. What a crying bastard, he also kept referring to the Song foul as a possible penalty, when it had already been clarified that it was outside the area. A twat of the highest order.

of all the little club charter managers coyle is the best, he is always complimentary about arsenal and wenger,

he has a right to stick up for his players and anyone who doesnt believe that song fouled his player before cahill got sent off is blind,
as for the sending off ,if it was an arsenal player sent off then this forum would have been in meltdown moaning about refs ,media etc etc etc

To be fair rebel, after watching the video you can see why it could be deemed reckless and thus a red card. Also, the ref was absolutely shit for both sides, and not just poor little Bolton. It's a pity the same attention wasn't paid to Robinson's tackle, as the one made by Song and indeed Cahill.
