I scored a cracker with RVP against B*rca tonight, first time shot running onto an Arshavin pass from about 25 metres out, right over Valdes into the opposite top right corner. EA replay didn't save properly though :(

I wish! PES5 and 6 were much better than any of their recent offerings.

Goalkeeper is interesting, it feels pretty fun, so far I think they've done a good job of it. It will be interesting to see how much more difficult it is when your keeper doesn't have the stats of Cech though. Maybe it will teach us some sympathy for Flappyhandski

Downloading the new PES demo off of PSN Japan right now, should be interesting.

People still playing PES are just deluded. Its like supporting the scum and saying 'next year, next year' - your just getting conned for £40 year in year out.

With Fifa, if anyone wants to get hurt on PS3 I'm ready.

Well said, its been PES for me since it was International Superstar Soccer on the SNES. I agree that now FIFA is the slightly better game, but scoring a last minute winner on FIFA just doesnt feel the same as doing it on PES.

What pisses me off is the mode where you control one player and have a career (called Become a Legend in PES not sure what it was in FIFA, maybe Be A Pro or something). The mode is far too short on FIFA and only lets you play for 4 seasons or something, which is shit. It would be great to start in league 2 and slowly work your way up but because it gives you so few seasons, you start in league 2 and very quickly get england call ups and prem interest which is unrealistic. PES has a much longer career, which is class, but it simply has too few teams and has nothing like league 2- plus you need to play in training matches

Combine the two- FIFAs number of leagues and teams, and the length of PES and it would be the best mode ever!

I would definitely buy a stand-alone game if it was a proper combination of the Be a Pro (Fifa) and Be a Legend (PES) modes. PES' was a ton of fun (I was truly addicted back in PES2009) but the match ratings were nothing short of infuriating with their inconsistency. As well, the lack of presentation values and the repetitiveness of training matches was a bore.

I think this feature will be focused on by Fifa next year. It's probably the weakest area of their package, at present.

I played the PES2011 demo, which is available on PSN Store Japan (really easy to make an account, check out youtube for a tutorial). Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Japan and Spain are your teams. The menu has changed dramatically. The game's speed felt really off, although the gameplay felt slightly improved. Enough to knock Fifa off? No. But the graphics were pretty. Funny how Fifa used to be for graphics and PES for gameplay; now it's vice-versa it seems.
