R.I.P Norman Wisdom - not my cuppa tea - But brought a lot of laughter to a lot of people - and gawd only knows we need more laughter in this feckin' world.....I was listening to radio 4 this morning and his biographer - who was alsop his mate - said thast at the age of 14 Norman Wisdom walked - WALKED!"!!! from london to Cardiff - in order to get a job as a cabin boy on a ship going out of Tiger Bay....F'ing Amaaazing.....he had a very tough young life...and for him to rise above it all - speaks volumes - he also did huge amounts of work for many charities - especially for children (homeless/childline etc etc etc)
May he
Rest In Peace.

Noooo! Flash i was thinking about the guy who got eaten by the shark in 'Jaws' - his character in "The Sting" was Doyle Lonegan (I think)...and at the time I just thought it might raise a wry smile if I said what I did...sorry if it wound you up.....or made you almost do a ****....
Martin Shaw was his name I think - or was that the one in the professionals!??
Peace and Love and All Things Nice.

i don't know how, but you guys managed to make a condolence thread actually quite funny.
which, to be honest, seems a perfect fit for the man who we're paying tribute to.
