Is it all under control now?

Mine just beats too fast when I'm stressed. Superventriculartachycardia they call it.

Met a guy on holiday, got talking and he said "oh I've had that. They put you on heroin for 6 weeks, bring you into hospital, take you into theatre, stop your heart, restart it again, then you take heroin for 6 weeks more"

Sounds a bit drastic to me!
That does sound drastic but maybe fun :D

Superventriculartachycardia-ocious!
Even though the sound of it Is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough
You'll always sound precocious

It was the bit in the middle that scared me - the stopping and restarting heart bit. What if the bloody thing WON'T restart!

But apparently thats for an arrythmnia - mine is something different. Don

Yeah it's not too bad now.

I have to take beta blockers and another tablet to keep my blood pressure down but apart from that all is fine.

I went to the doctors today.

I have:

Superventriculartachycardia - a fast heartbeart
An ectopic heartbeat - meaning a extra little beat between the main beats, and then a pause
and a slight heart murmur

coupled with a family history of heart problems, doctor said individually these things don't add up to much, but given that I've got all three together, plus the family history, they think I should see a cardiologist.

We'll see what they guy has to say when I get there. Not overly worried at the mo

Its a good thing they have spotted it JoC a lot of people have serious heart attacks because these things havent been spotted so im sure they will get you sorted out. There is a big family history of heart probs in my dads side of the family and i had a few tests recently due to pains in my chest and down my arm but luckily they didnt see anything wrong

I had some chest pains and stuff last year, though as expected it was related to anxiety. Nevertheless it was not a fun experience and I don't wish heart problems on anyone. Amazing what stress can do :(

Best wishes for favorable results JoC.

Well, got a letter from my GP, I could book my own appointment on the NHS choose and book website.

The earliest one - 12 bloody weeks time!
