Thanks Percy... it was actually the 1940's, but thanks for the compliment...Percy Dalton wrote:franksav63 wrote:How about ..... The Jack and Tyre Brace Stadium ???
Please excuse Frank for the above.
As some of you will know, Frank formed his sense of humour during his teenage years in the 1950's when comedy wasn't in its prime.

Sorry!
I have always associated that bronw velvet style of tracksuit you wore as a 50's item.
My mistake.

I'm never going to live that down am I???

Anyway, this ensemble is now history, it'll probably next be spotted being worn by the next Eboue, courtesy of my local charity shop.

He inherited just about the most complete English football team in history from Paisley and Fagan and turned them into a laughing stock (via one Double that a 7 year old on Championship Manager could have won with that squad)QuartzGooner wrote:The "This stadium was pronounced open by Kenny Dalglish and consequently no one outside of Glasgow could understand what he named it" Stadium?
Souness picked up the blame, the miserable twat Dalglish started the rot (ask Newcastle and Celtic fans what they think)
I've been saying this for years. Dalglish took five years to destroy the best team in the World, before walking away when he knew the game was up. Then Souness got ALL the blame.
But what about Blackburn's Title, I hear you say? Jack Walker was literally able to buy the Title at that time (he'd be a small fish these days) and any Manager could have won it with them.
Say this to a Liverpool fan though and you'd think you'd just presented them with fish and chips wrapped in today's Sun.
Thanks to you lot they were restricted from entering it too for a good few years. Keep avoiding the issue as usualBOJDE LFC wrote:Hopefully the name "Anfield" will be in it somewhere, don't mind if it isn't though as everyone will call it that anyway, apparently though teams from London with no experience of winning the European cup are restricted from entering the away dressing room. Don't worry though lads, it'll never be built anyway.
this just sums up the scouse mentality:
