Newcastle Nov 7th (French Gooners)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What is the news in France about Wenger's "Donya"?
Nothing at the moment, more to come tomorrow I guess.

I want to say I met some really nice people during the weekend, talking for hours at the pub, i'll keep in touch with them. Everybody was very friendly with us, who said english don't like french? ;)
Everything was fine, except of course the game (result and atmosphere), and the Pembury hotel which is a real shithole.

Ok, just wondered if your press had published anything.

Who recommended that Hotel?

Rumours are that the Pembury Hotel has never recovered from the visit of a group of Limerick gooners a while back.

I'd ask Rebel for some compensation Vince 8)

I've already been there twice, a while ago, but this weekend it was much worst.

I've stayed in the Pembury, it's ok, not great but after a post game all night piss up it's really only somewhere to shower and maybe grab 2 hours sleep before the flight home the next day. Majestic is better.

When we arrived at the Pembury, there was room not cleaned, a door you couldn't close, a shower was not working, in one of the bathroom there was water coming from the roof, etc ...
I'll try the majestic next time!

Haven't stayed in the Pembury for about 2 years now, it seems to have gone to shit. Will stick with the Majestic for overnighters.

Reb - post details about your new digs!

this is it, very handy, close enough for everything and a choice of tubes, only 2 min walk to the train station, and only couple of stops to arsenal,

very clean but no fry up as its a continental brekkie

Easily explained. Clearly Chippy had broken the lock on the door when forcing his way into the room the night before when two prozzies were staying in there, having already strangled the cleaner & disposed of her body down the laundry chute. He most likely bludgeoned one of the prozzies to death using the shower head, having left his trusty axe back in the lorry, breaking it in the process. And when you arrived he was obviously in the room above drowning the second prozzie in the bath, having spent all night viciously and brutally trying to convince her that the Lib Dems hadn’t really sold their soul to the highest bidder.

Vote Chippy.
