As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

How much of this does Arshavin do?
Not much.
Yes he has some assists, a few goals, but so might a less technically talented but harder working player, who would also track back.
I agree with those who say his best position is likely behind the striker, but it does not look as if he will play there much, so probably best for his career and our team if we replace him in the summer.
This. The things he does while we are attacking are fine but the amount of times he leaves our left back exposed and his total lack of effort in tracking back is a disgrace for a so called professional, a simple part of the game that school kids are aware has to be done and he cant be arsed because he thinks his shit don't stink, his attitude is extremely poor for a "professional"

I like pienarr but we won't get him. Arsharvin doesn't show up often enough for me and yeah assists are great I'd just like some sort of defensive effort.

Messi tracking back?
I hope you're joking. I assume you know the difference between tracking back and pressing.
I wish we would sell denilson, bentdner and squillaci. I would also sanction the sale of arshavin if he can't be arsed and would rather be in russia eating steak.

People will defend koscienly, bendtner, clichy, song, denilson, idolise Eboue but ask for AA to be sold.
Unreal.
What is world-class about an inability to offer any kind defensive effort and occasionally turning up for a decent game.
Arshavin is good maybe one out of five games.
To be workdclass you need to be consistent.
Tracking back / pressing is not really Theo's biggest asset but he did it to great effect against Chelsea and as a direct result we scored.
Due to the fact that our fullbacks push so far forward (Clichy was still pushing up at 3-0 up against Chelsea when he had absolutely no need to do so) and we are frail in the middle it is vital that the wide players play their part for the team.
if AA is not prepared to play his role for the greater good of the team then he has no place at this club.
His ability is not in question, his workrate and team ethics are.
I think he has lost interest in playing for us and that's why he seem so lazy and inconsistent. Three reasons for loss of interest: A deluded manager, mediocre players and a team who is incapable of winning titles.
Perhaps when Wenger remember to take his antipsychotic pills, we will get to see a different Arshavin

He is generally worth his place, as he will score the goal or two that could change a game. Wigan is a point, also if you watch his movement closely he does keep the other game busy, allowing space for other players.
Unfortuntely to many times, other team mates are not on his wavelength, plus also the odd game he could do a little more tracking back in my mind.
