A message to Mr. Wenger

Not likely. The support he has at board level and at gold-member, season-ticket level is unwavering.

Just received this text from someone, in reply to me criticising AW: 'some of us have been loyal for too long, and hope he has a job for life'

Basically a mate just told me to fuck off and support Tottenham lol.
That fella needs to start having an opinion on matters instead of being walked over IMO. I fully respect the success Wenger has helped bring us. But ev dog has his day and if the board do not put pressure on him soon, then we will through demonstrations (peaceful of course). The thing is we really don't know whether it is him or the board who are restricting the spending. Maybe he (Wenger) really is trying his best and trying to juggle things with what he has, eg if the board won't let him spend. We need answers from the board NOW

Regardless of the spending issue and who is to blame you just can't get away from his arrogant attitude.

His arrogance pushed us into a situation of coming second in the group for the trophy he desires most, his arrogance made him make 8 changes and take Wigan for granted like he did with West Brom and Newcastle, only he can take responsibility for that, not the board, not the players, not the refs, not the 4th official.

The name calling is a bit ott...

At the end of the day we are 2 points off top spot in the League and all of us would have took 4 points from 6 at the start of the week.

I like a positive outlook :barscarf: so cheer up and look forward to New Years Day

My messge to Mr Wenger is that you are a C**T of the highest order, I thought that when I saw the team sheet today and short of winning the league and champs league this season, I will not stop thinking that.

You're determined to keep pissing any good run we have in this shitty league up the wall.

You're not as clever as you think you are.

You didn't beat the Chavs on monday, the bent russian did that for you 6 weeks ago.

You didn't work your way back into the title race, the 2 other teams f'ed up and let you back in.

Now watch as the scum and shitty catch and overtake us, all the while keep giving bollocks post-match interviews full of complete and utter ***** shite.

I just can't believe he treated tonight like a Carling Cup game - it's just ridiculous! :?

The guy threw away a glorious opportunity, and for reasons I can't even begin to understand, he's chucked away the feel good factor achieved by beating Chelsea with the most arrogant and idiotic team selections tonight :(

I just don't get the man. How on earth was making wholesale changes and fielding an unbalanced team (including playing some players out of position) for a tricky away game in the best interests of our title challenge? - the players from Monday night must surely be as deflated as the fans.

It's one thing to fail because we're not good enough, but this just feels like we've been sabotaged from within... and that's just depressing. :(

Amazing - records share price, records profits fpr the club , records profits for shareholders who are supposedly supporters cashing in - and its all down to manager deliberately holding us back...

my my my

Sorry DB this is not pragmatism at all - more like denial and delusion on a stunning level

Its fucking sad but Ferguson has had Wengers card marked for the last half a decade and is continuing to do so.

Those Manc *word censored* will win their 19th this season....

And honestly as much as I think they are a fucking average side, I sit here thinking that we dont deserve it more than them anyway.

Their defence and experience wins titles, and why we dont.

Rob - Admin wrote:I am sure we are watching the end of the Wenger era. Fleeting glimpses of genius sandwiched between a lot of dross. As I have said recently, the brilliance is becoming more and more scarce with each season and the average dross is becoming more and more the norm.

We had United on the ropes in the early 2000's, we gave it all up for a shiney stadium with which to line the board's pockets'. We spend less on players now than when we ere at Highbury.

It is so fucking depressing.
I think you are on the right track certainly but I think had we sold Higfhbury as originally planned instead of borrowing another 110 million to re-develop it ourselves when we were already on the hook for a 260 million pound loan, we almost certainly would have had significantly more money available to invest in the football team - either in bringing in a higher quality of new player or paying to retain at least some of our best players already here for an extra 2-3 years. Either way would almost ceratinly have seen both better football and more trophies after 2005.

I think you are spot-on though on the Board being beneficiaries of these policies - the re-development of Highbury so far has only helped make mutli-millionaires on the Board even richer than they already were and given nothing back to the football club at all as yet. And since Quartz has labelled the re-development a success already because it produced profits I will say it already destroyed the most successfiul era any of us are likely to see at Arsenal Football Clkub on the pitch.
