Liverpool vs Arsenal

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No chance! That was a one off! There is no way I'd jinx such a big game...

But seeing as you asked nicely...9-0 Arsenal!

It's great that we are on the crest of a wave now & everything isnt all rosy for our scouse "friends" but it should be remembered that as bad hunting grounds go it doesnt get much worse for us than anfield  .
I believe we'll play ade up top with hleb off the front and rosicky replacing the unlucky theo - I know a few 'pool fans that are shitting themselves at the thoughts of theo running at hypia  . It is looking very likely though that they will have at least torres & alonso back for our game and as many of you now torres is the 1 striker I wanted in the summer to sign for us as I rate him highly. Didnt the pool go very route 1 in the last 10 mins - thought it was a throwback to the wimbledon era
I'd be happy with a draw on sunday though I'm raging I wont even be able to watch the game live as I'll be in wembley

:D

OK Chippy - as long as it's not Portugese wine (Chelsea/Manu connections)

Took this from that link about problem drinking:

The figures, commissioned by the government, show a north-south divide, with heavy, steady drinking highest in the Surrey commuter belt, while Manchester, Liverpool and other northern cities have the biggest proportions of adults drinking enough every week to do real harm to themselves or somebody else.

I like the "do real harm to themselves" bit :!: :D Rather than throw the bottle into the bin, they just smash it over their heads. :)

the Grauniad followed up with this

http://www.guardian.co.uk/britain/artic ... 18,00.html

One of their reporters spent last weekend in Liverpool. Aren't those very lovely ladies in the picture? I expect you Gooners going to the ganme to look out for them. Some quotes

"A man approaches me and says: "Where you're sitting has a history." Oh yes, I respond wearily, expecting another Beatles anecdote. But no. "That's where Christopher McBride was killed."

Two years ago, the 24-year-old Oxford graduate was sitting in my seat when he was punched twice in the face by 24-year-old John Frazer, possibly because McBride refused him a cigarette. McBride, a pacifist, did not fight back. Nine days later he died in hospital after suffering a fractured skull and brain damage."

" At 12.30 on Saturday afternoon, I'm with Everton fans outside the Winslow Hotel in the shadow of Goodison Park. A middle-aged man has draped his arm around my shoulders and is telling me that Mikel Arteta will run Jamie Carragher ragged. I ask how much he has had to drink. "Seven pints," he says. You'll miss the game because you'll be forever going to the toilet, I say. "Nah, I've got this," he says, reaching into a plastic bag." It's an empty two-litre bottle of Fanta. "Never need leave my seat."

Respect :P  :?: :(

OH NO LADS, WE'VE GOT A TURN-COAT WHO LIKES TO TELL TALES ON PEOPLE!!

CHIPPY,

WE SHALL HENCEFORTH HAVE TO PUT A SCAR ON YOUR FACE (METAPHORICALLY SPEAKING OF COURSE, SEEMING AS WE'RE USING THE INTERWEB) - KNOWN IN THE UNDERWORLD AS THE MARK OF THE SQUEALER - SO THAT EVERYONE IS AWARE THAT YOU CAN'T BE TRUSTED AND TO KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR YOU.

FROM NOW ON, EVERYTIME SOMEONE SPOTS ONE OF YOUR POSTS, THE CRY WILL GO OUT, IN A HIGH PITCHED, YET WHISPERED VOICE: "SQUEALER!! IT'S THE SQUEALER!!" 8) NOW LET'S SEE IF YOU LIKE THAT!!

BY THE WAY, WAS THIS IN RETALIATION TO MY REMARK - AFTER YOUR SUGGESTION THAT I CHANGE MY NAME FROM IHH - THAT YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR NAME TO 'FRENCH FRIES'?

Of course it was in reply to your disrespectful post about Chippy. it would be like asking Rebel to cahnge his nmae to Orange or Gus to change his name to Gusset!

Actually it wasn't. I thought it might lead to a witty response from TS, but it was v boring. He must have been coming down from Tuesday's high.

No chance. He won't leave out the Flamster. Only change i think he will make will be Rosicky for Theo and he will go with a 4-5-1 type formation.

I think Wenger will go 4-5-1. But i would start Theo before Tomas as he is on a high and i think his pace could trouble the scousers back 4. But that means Ade has to be at the top of his game.We must take our chances at Anfield.
