Diaby put his selfish need for retribution ABOVE the needs of his team mates and Arsenal football club - and that is totally unacceptable.
After all the chances and all the support he's been given by Wenger and Arsenal, and that's how he repays them??? - bloody selfish!
Rosicky not Diaby
The challenge from the *word censored* was very rough, Diaby was lucky that he could still react1989 wrote:He's a human being though, you do stuff like that in the heat of the moment.g88ner wrote:Then you'd be a selfish prick, too!gooner-zak wrote:to be fair to diaby, if i was him, id of done the same.

Loved how he made Barton look like his bitch. Don't fuck with Abou.wlchuccc wrote:The challenge from the c**t was very rough, Diaby was lucky that he could still react1989 wrote:He's a human being though, you do stuff like that in the heat of the moment.g88ner wrote:Then you'd be a selfish prick, too!gooner-zak wrote:to be fair to diaby, if i was him, id of done the same.

I've always thought the whole "heat of the moment" argument to be a poor excuse from people with little or no self control, and the reason the "heat of the moment" argument doesn't stack up is because if his life depended on it, he would have shown restraint... but today he was unable to show restraint? bullshit - it's down to how focused and seriously you take your responsibilities, and he chose to behave like a selfish prick.1989 wrote:He's a human being though, you do stuff like that in the heat of the moment.
In any case, most GBH and murders are done in the heat of the moment, but thankfully the courts understand that it's a shite excuse. We're ALL responsible for our behaviour, and Diaby is no exception - he showed a shocking lack of restraint and it's cost us big time. He gave the referee absolutely no option! It was selfish. Totally selfish.
Have no answer to that. Still, I understand why Diaby reacted in that way. The guy has had thugs clattering into him throughout his Arsenal career, and only recently that scumbag Robinson almost broke his ankle. Not saying what he did was right, but if you were in his shoes you'd probably understand his anger as he must have had enough of people trying to break his leg.

Diaby is a fucking hot head, he's always had an attitude and today it cost him. What is it, his second game back? He should have focused on playing the game and not got caught up in Joey Barton's usual and very expected bullshit. It was an immature move on his part, and he was frustrated that the refs weren't protecting Arsenal better. His selfishness cost us - "heat of the moment" or not.
Rosicky is way past his prime and doesn't look fit to wear the Arsenal colors anymore. Great guy, sad waste of his prime years, we all wish him well... but c'mon Wenger, let the man go to somewhere he fits in. We're lucky it wasn't 5-4 with his lazy playing-on of Newcastle.

But I do understand Diaby's anger, and my solution would be to draught in Keown for a weekly training session on "The dark arts of hurting an opponent without being penalised for it".
Keown helped coach the back four which included Flamster and Swiss Phil to 10 straight clean sheets in the CL and Wenger didnt keep him on.Wenger is just too stubborn to get a defensive expert like Keown in.I think Keown would also tell Wenger some home truths about defending. So it will never happen

This has been 1 of our biggest & most glaringly obvious problems for years now. As much as we obviously lack quality in certain areas, with this exact same squad of players we really could win trophies if Wenger would only swallow his pride & delegate power/responsibility to people who know more than him about specific parts of the game - especially defending. As you say donaldo, that defence that Keown coached had Flamini at left-back & Swiss Phil, but not only that it also had Eboue at RB & Kolo, who was never a natural defender & generally needed a Sol beside him to tell him where to be. Man for man that defence was weaker than this one, bar Squillaci, but we’re so much worse now.donaldo wrote:Agreed QGQuartzGooner wrote:Of course anyone using "Heat of the Moment" excuse for murder is still a murderer.

The wealth of defensive knowledge potentially available to us through former players is astounding. To not take advantage of that, when we so badly need to, is easily one of Wenger's biggest errors. For the last couple of seasons, given a choice I'd have genuinely prioritised a new defensive coach over buying any new defenders.

Sorry but forget the two of them, where was the captain today?????
"He's not a captain, we all know that" blah blah blah.
For Fuck sake it his duty to captain and sort out the side. Motivate them, urge them on, reasure them, fucking captain and show some profesional passion. Whether he's good at it or not he need to assert himself.
Cesc isnt made for it, but he should make it his duty. What we needed today was leadership on the pitch, which is his role.
For all his attacking genius the guy is defensivley (personally and guiding the team) piss poor.
Rosicknote has come to the end sadly, diaby was an absolute idiot, but the barton challenge was a yellow at least.

Football at most levels has dirty crunts playing it. In the past we always had a Keown or a Bouldy to "look after" our flair players. If you did one of ours, they did you. Simple.
I know the game has moved on, but there are still dirty bastards like Barton, Slack Jaw Neville, Nolan etc playing. As QG says - we need someone to teach our CB's and midfielders how to put the hurt on these crunts WITHOUT getting booked/sent off or giving away a penno.
Fight fire with fire. But don't get caught.

Both were sent off for reacting to provocation.
