I jailbroke my 3gs and the screen cracked, so i restored to factory settings and sent away fro repair no problem.
jailbroke my 4 and that had the reception issue, restored to factory and again sent away to sort and no problems
as long as you restore to factory settings via itunes you wont have any problems with jailbreaking being traced

I also have a handy app for finding wi-fi passwords. It cost €2.50 or something but find it quiet usefull. Basically the way it works is, if you "forget" your Eircom* wi-fi password it'll find it for you provided you don't have it locked.
*Eircom is an Irish internet provider so obviously it's no good in the UK but is there any similar UK versions?

The Shazam app is great.
If you're not familiar, it was originally a phone service where if you hear music and want to know what it is, you dial a number and play the music down the phone, it then texts you the song name and artist.
The app is basically the same thing with more features, such as giving you the song lyrics, and a link to buy the song on itunes.Instead of charging you, you get to use it 5 times per month on the free version, or unlimited on the paid version (about £3).
It works really well, I used it on a song I could barely hear in a really noisey pub the other night and it worked perfectly. The song was "Summer Wine" by Nancy Sinatra if anyone's interested

Blackberry is good if you like consistantly chatting with your friends, bb messenger is good for this.
iPhone is just awesome, limitless potential! That is unless you are old like augie.
