There is no justification in what the idiot did. But Lennon past encounters with sectarian violence/threats should teach him to be a little more intelligent about the way he conducts himself. He should know when to restrain himself, and especially at the moment when things are so hostile towards him shouldnt play the media wind up game he has.

His actions have done nothing to ease the tensions building towards himself. Until recently I really respected the guy, but think he is conducting himself in the totally wrong way. ( typing that and thinking about us....irony :banghead: )

Lots of nonsense in this thread. Lennon winds up other teams fans? Ever heard of Pulis, Ferguson, Mourinho.... Wenger? They're all famed for it.

This goes far deeper than winding the fans up, or being ginger, it's about a country where two sets of fucking inbred idiots believe in a very slightly different version of a religion and bomb and maim anything in sight representative of the other sect. Cocksuckers the lot of 'em.

Be interesting to see what he gets for it . The Red Sea Pedestrian that attacked Lampard got a pathetic 300 quid fine and banned for 3 years from football grounds,if he had done it outside the ground however he would more likely have got 9 months I fail to understand the logic.
Spurs seemed to walk from the incident without censure If I recall correctly.
Could give a toss abouit lennon but those jambo boys arent the cleverest of chaps . whats the odds he was from Gorgie

Absolutely agree 100% with every word of that post. The twitcher has insinuated possible corruption in the citeeh v stoke league game next week and suggested that it be played before the cup final to prevent any wrong doing.....how is that any different that when lennon said about hearts lying down v rangers last weekend ? :?

The thing with lennon is more than what you see at face value - traditionally it was always believed that hearts were alligned with rangers and hibs were alligned with celtic and as long as their remains that bullshit religious crap in the scottish game then tension will always be there :x  Again what you should also understand is that lennon got hounded out of playing for his own country purely cos he played for celtic and all these death threats are personal against lennon as opposed to against celtic the club. Should lennon also be hounded out of his current job as well ? I agree that the cupping of his hands to the rangers fans at ibrox was at best ill advised and at worst downright stupid but does it deserve this bullshit ? This type of reaction typifies everything that is wrong with the world today......instead of trying the guilty party lets be the victim on trial instead

Exactly right, augie.

It goes the whole way through society - rather than asking people to be better, society dumbs things down.

Thank god this place has maintained a certain standard.

that was a light-hearted attempt at a joke, not a serious comment on the Neil Lennon situation

Both celtic and rangers fans have been using the 'football rivalry' as an excuse for feckin years and years.....the divide is all about religion and the things that were done in the name of religion/s, many of the social inbalances and injustices were brought about by relgion.

The rivalry between hearts and celtic may not be 'religion' based, - more geographic and a more recent 'loathing' (a bit like us and brum/stoke et al).

But Lennon isn't shy about winding up rangers (and other managers & fans) and even though he is simply doing what he was brainwashed into from a child....as are all the supporters of the different factions (religions/clubs), he is in a position to help change hearts and minds.....alas it is something beyond him, just as it is the person who attacked him.....

Scottish Football is Shyte as is Religion and as long as people are unable to let go of the past and the many wrong things done in the name of religion there will always be hatred and violence at every opportunity

How often do we hear the various representatives of the different relgions / churches bang on about how it is wrong for violence to be done in the name of a religious belief etc.... As long as they insiist on holding to the belief that 'theur religion/god' is the right one, they can have no credence....

IF there is a God (and we all know it to be Bergkamp!) then that God is surely the god of all and everyone...

Scottish Football = Bollocks

Religion = Bollocks

I could be very wrong here onebard but I think neil lennon is protestant not catholic which is why the northern Irish fans turned on him for playing for Celtic and if I am right I would guess he would not have been brainwashed as a child with all this bullshit. Of course I could be wrong on this but we are all agreed that religion has absolutely no place in sport and maybe until the scottish authorities start taking serious action against the old firm clubs (points deductions maybe ?) this bullshit will not stop :(

That being said I still dont believe that lennon should be posted as the villan here - as somebody has already pointed out, there are a lot of examples of managers in the premier lge who go out of their way to wind up opposition players and supporters without anybody questioning his conduct. Should lennon surrender to these thugs who threaten him ? Like him or loath him you would have to agree that they guy never shirked a battle as a player and I dont see him being any different as a manager

There are plenty of wind up merchants in football on both sides of the border....and some of them are even ginger.

But attacking someone during a match or sending parcel bombs......that goes way beyond being "irate" because of something that's been said. This is sectarianism gone mad!

I must admit i dont know much about sectarianism in scottish football other then rangers = protestant and celtic = catholic. So where do hearts fit into this? Isn't it possible that this guy is just a *word censored* who doesnt like neil lennon?
