PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've already done some price scanning for Lisbon that weekend, everything is very expensive sadly.

I'll be up for both of those if true :barscarf:
Benfica yes please! Just need to find some money now

One of the grounds that I really wanna visit, FC Koln's place is pretty nice too though. Just had a very quick look, both trips are already fairly pricey :(

Same here, that and the Stade Veldodrome at Marsaille. If we meet either of those in the champions league I think I'd have to accept the costs and just go. (Never seen FC Koln though, will google it)

whoever's mad enough to travel halfway around the world for a pre-season friendly deserves either a round of applause or psychological therapy

looking forward to CL qualifiers though  Bring on Celtic! 8)

Have a look via Brussels, you can get a train from there and it's usually alright

Ryanair into pretty much anywhere in Germany looks like an option, then get a train. Their railways are top notch...

I so want to get Dortmund in the euro cup! That would be a cracking game to go to!

Is Ryanair cheaper than Eurostar to Paris/Brussels?

When I went to Koln 6 months ago (sadly not for football) I got eurostar to brussels for £70 then return from there to Koln for about 50 euros, took total 5 hours each way, much recommended if you are in London. I'll be well up for that trip if it is confirmed.

I wouldn't be up for the far east, that will be really expensive, epsecially at such short notice. Pre season euro trips are a good laugh though. Went with my brother to Szombathely in Hungary a couple of years back, was a rubbish game but a great experience, got chatting to some quality gooners (from skin head blokes to middle aged women) and got interviewed by ATVO in the town square. We did get attacked by holligans which wasn't great fun but the police did a pretty good job.

You can walk round the pitch on google map  http://maps.google.be/maps?hl=fr&tab=wl
The ground looks good from the outside, love the architecture of the surroundings

You can get a return (Brussels-Cologne) for 38 euros if you're quick!
