Patrick Vieira to return as a coach??

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well can he coach to start with ? He's still playing so there's no guarantee he'll neccessarily make a straight transition to coaching.

However, the guy has all the experience in the world on his side and he still loves the club - but is that enough ? I'm sure Pat Rice loves the club but it hasn't stopped him becoming the focus of fans frustrations this year and last.

There's no doubt Vieira is still in love with Arsenal though and therefore if he's prepared to the hard work and actually help to improve the areas that need improving then I see no reason why not. There's a natural advantage to taking a first coaching role in familiar surroundings and I think he has enough about him not to just become another Wenger lapdog on the sidelines.

Be interesting to see what happens with him in the Summer. Personally I can't see him taking an MLS role as he doesn't crave the "celebrity stardom" in a way that Henry, Beckham or Ljungberg do, IMO.
