Ashburton Grove Stadium

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bollocks, you're makin me feel old young fella. It's hard to imagine a generation of Arsenal fans who won't remember Highbury, I was going there regularly at your age and Highbury is Arsenal, it's still a shock walking down from Finsbury Park before the game and seeing the old place being turned into a paradise for lawyers, doctors and other "professional" types. Having said that, if I won the lottery I might buy one for meself, just for match days before I went back to the country estate next door to Noel Gallagher of course   It'd ne nice think that the ghost of Herbert Chapman will still be walking about the place somewhere, just so that the odd prawn sandwich will cause the odd nightmare and a bit of indigestion tho

If it's at all possible get him to the grove mate and contact the club to let them know. He'd be in a pretty exclusive club I'd have thought and might get vip treatment. If not there's something wrong.

Nothing will ever ever beat standing on the North Bank screaming my lungs out!

But as new stadia goes I have to say The Grove is fucking brilliant!
To be honest I would watch Arsenal on the village green!

umm true, but as I say he lives a reasonable distance out of London now, and I dont think he'd be up for it.
I dont think he's watched a game in the last 10 years now any way and probably wouldnt enjoy it, however i'll talk to him about it and see what he says, it would be nice.

Yeah highbury very special in terms of Arsenal, but with me only seeing highbury on tele and when they had just started to knock it down, it dosn't carry the special personal moments that the others of you have because i never got to go to highbury on a matchday.

The emirates, i will the get the fealings you got of highbury, because i will be able to go to games and become my second home
