Unfortunately you would think that it is only a lack of judgment or oversized ego leading them to this conclusion, but alas players like Wilshere will have an absolute army of fans on twitter, all kissing his arse and "tweeting" him about every "tweet" he posts. They think people care because, unfortunately, this country has a lot of stupid people who doSpanishJoe wrote:It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that a player's ability to produce wonderful things on the pitch is mirrored when he's not playing. This is rarely the case and, embarrassingly, many foreign players speak more eloquently in English than our home grown ones.
I do worry about Jack off the field and about players who due to ego or lack of judgement think we want to know this drivel.
Imagine! You meet Jack in your local. You think 'wow' it's Jack! You wander over and say, "Hi Jack, how's it going?" And he says, "I went to bed quite early last night and I tried some new cereal for breakfast this morning".
You think, 'What a boring c**t!"
If it's too boring to say it face-to-face, don't put it on Twitter.
JACK WILSHERE AND FUCKING TWITTER!

can't stand celebrity twitter pages, it's just another way of rubbing your fucking nose in and basically saying my life is wonderful and your life is shit
it's like some celeby cúnt saying "i've just had four weeks in Barbados, now flying back in first class, should be landing in 10 minutes according to my rolex then driving my £100k hummer home to my mansion and then finishing it say how's the rest of you folks.
"yeah i am great it's pissing down with ran whilst i am sitting in my council flat, reading your twitter page, whilst eating a bowl of coco pops"
it's like Prince Charles visiting the fucking homeless

"Aye,in those days we would have been glad of the price of a cup of tea!"
"A cup of cold tea, with no milk."
"No sugar."
"And no tea!"
"But we were happy, though we were poor."
"Because we were poor!!!"
etc etc etc

This is the new generation of athlete-fan interaction. Kind of like how 20-40 years ago you might see an Arsenal player down at a pub or something and chat with him briefly (?)
I wouldn't call it egotism, it's just what the younger generation does these days. I don't tweet personally (just for CanadianGunners) but I know many who do.
It's a nice reminder that professional athletes are still humans like you and I. Just ridiculously good at something, and much richer for it
