20 20 CRICKET

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

just noticed this thread.

im an armchair cricket fan during the ashes when i pretend to be english with my aussie mates.

Flash, oh dear oh dear.

Spend 40 quid on chisora fury ticket, sneak in a few brews, and then sneak down to the pricey seats (when fighters coming into the ring, security low then), and enjoy the fight with your drink. OR pay and bring your drink to ringside, all enlish venues now seem to have changed there rules for boxing and drink are allowed to be brought to seats.

Either way, the women at the boxing alone outscore feckin cricket by a mile. There are single ones too

And guarenteed a few characters too. If its a big london fight, all the firm turn up. ANd it hillarious hearing them singing chants across a venue. It hardly ever gets nasty either, pure banter, unless of course someone cant take their drink.

And then there is the actual boxing.

Flash get down to the york hall for a prizefighter event. Not the cream of the crop as far as boxing talent goes, but a great night out, and isnt stupidly expensive.

Cricket :? Apart from bringing in your own booze i dont see the appeal.

me and my m8s were also stood opposite the pavilion then some bloke tipped us the wink that there were 6 spare seats all together near him so we managed to sit down for the essex innings. tbh the stewards didnt give a s*it.

looking grim 2020 wise for us now though! next 2 home games are friday nights i think.

left foot legend, do you play in the SNEL? indoor cricket, facks the knees
Sorry mantis, just noticed this, the indoor cricket league is a Hampshire one.

Went to 2020 last night they got 13 overs in and then it pissed down, had to take refuge at the bar.

Still Hampshire already qualified for qf versus Durham who play in Chester le street where my missus is from, small world.

Anyhow 17 of us went last night and we always book 10 tickets or more and that way it's only 10 quid a ticket.

No mate, I play in the saturday hants division and midweek indoor in the winter, plus the odd midweek 2020 in the summer.

Off to the rose bowl on sunday to watch the 2020 quarter final against durham, should be good fun, we have got a minibus going so plenty of beer time :D

This time of the year is where the cricket and football clash though, I have football training tonight, cricket saturday and a football friendly match sunday, gonna to be knackered :?

Still, gets me out of the house

I fucking love watching cricket. I prefer a test match though, you can't beat a day getting pissed at Newlands with this view:

Yes it's hot as hell but there are massive oak trees on the grass bank so you're in the shade. Perfect.

I too don't like 20/20 but it is a bit of a laugh to go for the craic with your mates and getting drunk.

yeah 2020 is great for a few beers, our Saturday Cricket team will play at the Rose Bowl if we come first or second in our league, second at moment so who knows, would be fucking great to have the family come down and watch us play there.

Lord's and the oval are both good, Lord's is pricey though, the Oval'd be your best bet I think, I've been to Edgbaston to watch SA though, that was great.
