Alex Song going to prison?

I can think of at least six players who we could prosecute under the trades description act!!!

Guess I am in a minority here but I think Song is ok.

Not great but ok.

Granted he needs to track back more after his forays forward, but those forays have netted us a few goals this season. And supposedly it was Wenger who asked him to push forward more than he has in recent seasons?

In an ideal world he would not be a starting player, but as an all round midfielder who can deputise in defence in a crisis, I would have no qualms having him on the bench.

I don't think you're in a minority with your overall view.

I also believe that Wenger instructed him to support the attack, whereas I believe it would have served us better to have him more disciplined.

Not top class, but not a dud.

This will be one way to stop him stinking up the team.

Wonder where he'll play in the prison team?

I guess in goal...what with all of those balls that he'll have to deal with in and around his head.

I doubt he would be good enough to get into the prison team.

Future captain at Arsenal then...

Song is average IMHO. No more, no less. He started off absolutely shite but then made a huge improvement that lifted his game all the way up to average. A squad player for me, not a starter. We need better.

I think the term you are looking for is the best of a bad bunch but that is not the standard we should be accepting.

He improved from being garbage to decent then it went to his head.

He's now absolutely cack.

Played well against United last year but other then that he was a let down.

In fairness percy song is by far from being the only player being attacked in the squad and most of us attacking him would be ok with him being retained as a squad player (as opposed to first choice) which cannot be said of diaby, denilson, bendtner, rosicky etc so he is far from being picked on. Maybe you can defend him to a point based on wenger's tactics but it should not disguise his lack of mobility and his woeful ability to tackle properly which are absolute necessities in his position

You forgot lack of discipline, another important quality for the role he is supposed to perform.

Not sure what you mean Percy. :? As far as I can tell almost every player has been slaughtered by someone or other on here at some point. And given performances last season, most of them deservedly so - including your beloved Alex 'The Singer' Song. :box: :box:
