When are we going to learn that only when the people who run and or own the club are made to feel some pressure will anyone feel any pressure?
Our only hope now is that Usmanov reaches 30% because then - maybe - he might pressure the club to address these matters - and even then I'm not confident of him doing so.
The money men have won or certainly are winning, and now that is all we are about. We let them win or are letting them win, because apparently that is easier than any alternative that we have considered.
I thought it was supposed to be all-change now under our completely new Board and ownership, instaed now it sounds like no change at all. I'm sorry but how long are we going to pretend the multi-millionaires and now billionaires that have run this club since 2005 aren't selectively competent in their business dealings and that only when they are pressed on them might there be some real change? So long as we insist we have no right to question anything until we are 100% certain of everything what more can we seriously expect from our Club? We give them no incentive whatsoever to do anything differently after all.

He does everything.... I mean EVERYTHING to deflect critisism of Wenger to 'The Board', much like Wenger himself, who does his best to deflect from the real issues of the current squad.
When I read that Wenger believes the team is 'not defensively weak' I nearly threw my laptop out of the window. That if quite frankly insulting the intelligence of the ordinary fan, and Ive gone from loving the guy to absolutely wanting to do a flying kick into his head

I would have more respect for him if he just turned round and said that we havent got any money, we havent got any ambition further than getting 4th, and to publically say that he loves his £7m year while laughing at us paying 6% more for the privelige

None of this surprises me, I hoped the negative vibes of the last few games would force him into action but obviously not, it will get ugly and what he gets will be completely deserved, the man is a buffoon who ignores the teams failings, the same mistakes will happen again, that I am sure off.
How can he have so much faith in a bunch that collapsed the way it did and surrendered big leads twice against Spurs and Newcastle?
We will sign no one else.

I know I've never even worked half a day in football and my views are probably rubbish but silly old me thought that defending and attacking were both important parts of football and not separate entities. Even though I've not worked even half a day in football and therefore I am an idiot, I would imagine that concentrating less on the attacking and teaching some defending might be something to consider.
An 'offensive team'. What a load of bollocks, what a pointless excuse. It's like saying, oh don't worry, he's right-footed so we won't bother to teach him to kick with his left. I'm sick of his utter idiocy and his shit excuses, he really isn't competent enough to being running a football team if he seriously thinks that we don't need to worry about fixing the shambles of a defence.
And what's all this nonsense about 'open play' and 'set-piece' defending? Defending is defending- if you are good at it, the other teams won't score that often, if you are bad at it, they will score loads. He has these stupid views and should quite frankly, stop over-complicating things and do the basic things well. [/quote]

I understand what you're saying and anyone who reads the "Arsenal linked with Benzema for £30m" type nonsense deserves everything they get in that regard. However, when the same manager has made noises for 4 consecutive Summers about strengthening defensively and adding "one or two experienced players", you must admit it's a little galling to find ourselves here once more with the usual.kiwomya wrote:You can't keep reading so far into everything Wenger says. He's never going to sit and slate any of the team - you know that 100% already. I don't know what people are looking for!!
Arsenal have always been notoriously quiet about who they are signing/attempting to sign. I think too many people are interested in and riled up by who we are "linked" with. Most it's just shit to fill the coloumns in the papers and online. It's not even just Arsenal, all fans set themselves up to be let down if you read that utter utter shit.
We've signed the usual promising kid - Jenkinson - and the usual virtually unknown, but had one good season in France signing - Gervinho. Then we spend months convincing our best players to stay and Wenger sprouts the usual stuff about "keeping the current squad together" as the priority.
He's already said Clichy won't be replaced - we have Gibbs, Traore and Vermaelen can play there too. Well Gibbs is always injured, Traore is a midfielder who always gets skinned at full back and TV5 is our best centre half.
The Summer activity is over and the same weaknesses apply. Brentford's finest is our first choice keeper - OK he's promising but at this stage nothing more - and we have The Three Stooges in reserve. TV5 is the only centre half worthy of the name, there is no CDM as cover for Song (unless like Wenger you believe wonderboy Frimpong is the answer). Same problems......again and again and again.....and when you hear Wenger repeating the same old stuff when he's back with his squad on a pre-season tour you can understand why some of us become cynical surely ?
