You know when someone in the States goes out with a 9mm oozie on a Monday and takes out 15 of their former classmates just because, well for no real reason at all?
Well when the Police dig into their past, they normally discover threads like this and state that this should have been the warning sign that things were not too rosy in the garden.. :worried:

Your arrogance is staggering.

Do you not see how naive your view on the Board is? If they were withholding cash from Wenger, which has lead to our decline, that doesn't make any sense. Can you not see that a Club that fails on the pitch, eventually fails off of it? Fans stop going, and sponsors stop sponsoring. If you drop out of the Champions League, disaster......

Speculate to accumulate. A basic rule of business. You seem to think that by saving a few quid on transfers that the Board are failing the Club. I reckon it's the other way round. Wenger is refusing to spend. Kroenke will fuck him off sooner rather than later. He is no mug.

Nice try frank

maybe you can explain these numbers below than

May2001 1700 GBP
May2002 1725 GBP
May 2003 1425 GBP
May 2004 1609 GBP

May 2005 4000 GBP
May 2006 4780 GBP
May 2007 7150 GBP
May 2008 8550 GBP
May 2009 6750 GBP
May2010 10000 GBP
May2011 11000 GBP

Those first four nmbers are our share price from 2001-2004 , our most successful period on the pitch a period when comparatively speaking we were in fact specualting to accumulate as you suggest

the second set of figures is from 2005 to 2010 following the borrowing of the additional 120 million GBP to redevelop Highbury and the reversal of the more ambitious inevstment in the team on the pitch?

Care to explain why the share price of Arsenal in the Invicnible was only 100 GBP higher than a year earlier while our sixth straight potless season saw their the share price increase by 1000 GBP?

Are you sure you understand what being naive really is?

Let's see four trophies four seasons share price drops 100 GBP
Six trophyless seasons share price rises 7000 GBP

Funny that...or maybe not-so-funny

Especially when you look at it this way

From 2001-2004 out nest SPEND was 31.5 Million GBP and that does not include what we paid Sol Campbell the most important and expensive signing of that period to sign on a Bosman and won four tophies in those years

And our share price dropped 100 GBP.

from 2005 -2011 we have made a net PROFIT of 23.7 million GBP and gone trophyless.

And our share price has increased by 7000 GBP.

What would that tell you , and what do you think it tells our new custodian because that is far more important isn't it? Especially since we played like pure crap in China but our tour was said to be an unqualified success

I would suggest you look at some facts before making sweeping conclusions like this.

The problemn is we all stopped keeping our eyes on the prize and are paying the price now.

I've already explained this Martin.... The share price went up because of:

- Move to Emirates promises higher revenues.
- 2 willing buyers (Kroenke and Usmanov).

Arsenal's shares are listed, but in reality they are not liquid. They are not on the FTSE. You seem to think that Highbury Square was the reason for the increase. Makes no sense mate. It's small in the grand scheme of things. According to your argument, the share price increases even when the Highbury deal goes tits up. Why is that then, if it is so crucial to the share price? Surely it must go down if it seen to be earning us less profit, and stressing the cash-flow...............

Transfer policy if anything knackers the share price in the long-term as failure on the pitch leads to failure off of it. Anyway, as can be seen as clear as day, whilst we weren't spending massive transfer fees, we are pissing money up the wall on long term deals for Bendtner, Eboue, Denilson, Diaby etc. We are the fourth highest wage spenders in the Premier League. It all comes out of the same pot! This is covenanted in the deal with the Banks. The Board don't call the shots, the Banks do. Arsene chooses to reward failure with big money contracts. No-one else does.

Your argument is a joke. Now fuck off!

So then all that speculate to accumulate rubbish was just that wasn't it?
Were we spending money on the team to get these gentlemen to inevst or were we investing in certaing non-footballing revenue strams instead and limiting additional investment in the football team to do so from 2005 forward?

You can think what you want of me but the numbers can't be ignored.

The simple truth is you say we wouldn't hold back spending because that and the resulting lack of success and silverwarewould undermine our share price but then you acknowledge that the lack of silverware was completely irrelevant to the progress of the share price

You can't say they couldn't have done this because it would have hurt the share price then ignore the fact that it did not. What do you actually beieve then? You can't pretend we invested more in the team than we did or that the lack of investment in the team had nothing to do with these investors appareaing when they did if you actually believe your own argument you made about speculating to accumulate.

Either they chose to buy when we chose to invest less or even the bare minimum in the team (or in spite of it) but either way it makes the speculate to accumulate theory a flawed or false theory, and your own explanation proves as much.

Personally, I believe the board made the right decision to redevelop Highbury themselves.

Personally I believe you have the deductive skills of David Suchet ( note I did not say Monsieur Poirot but Mr Suchet - the difference matters)
