Will Wenger last the season?

Thats about right...no matter what happens, it won't be his fault he will always be passed off as the saviour...

He could choose to sell the whole first 11 have 300m in the bank to spend, buy the Scunthorpe first 11 for 2m, get relegated and then say how well he did considering what he had to work with...Then Gazidis will tell us only Wenger could do so well with the team he had and that Wenger is the only man that could take that team back in to the prem... And of course there will always be plenty of deluded fans out there who will be only too happy to perpetuate that bollocks...

Augie mate - I've changed the key word for you.

He could be forced out IF enough people do what should've happened months ago and turn on him. Sadly I still can't see enough people doing that inside our soul-less stadium to get to that tipping point. If we beat Newcastle they'll all be singing "there's only 1 Arsene Wenger" on the Tuesday and Saturday.

I hate to hear myself say it but the timne has come for us to let him know his performance is nowhere near good enough for a club like Arsenal and it's time for him to go. :banghead:

JFG, i'm not sure how the mood is over there as i'm living in another continent  but what i can realize from forums and the web and from the general feeling here in brazil, is that even most people who would defend him before last season are fed up and want him to go. things have changed rapidly since the start of this year.

i remember we had this poll back when we founded the arsenal brazil (before last season) to see how many of us thought wenger was still the right man for the job. we were about 40 back then (it was the start of the SC) and there were only two or three votes to "no". (and no i'm not one of them  ) we haven't done the poll again, but we've been discussing the subject a lot and i'd say that more than half of us want the manager to go.

i'm sure that if things end up how it seems it will, there will be massive protest maybe before the end of this year.

i'm obviously waiting for the transfer window to close before drawing any definite conclusion, but if it finishes like it is now (or with little change) i'll be raising the 'arsene out' banner as well and it will probably mean i'll have to stop posting at arsenal brasil and if so, then i'll fucking quit the thing.

what they're doing to our football club is unnaceptable  :banghead:

Totally agree BG - it's not just the results and lack of trophies is it?

It's the bullshit Wenger keeps coming out with; the failure to address the blindingly obvious problems; the money we're expected to pay to watch our team; the awful way we conduct all transfers; the total lack of defensive coaching. I could go on and on

I hope that this is Wenger's last season but I still think that so many of the sheep at home games will support him - if they haven't turned by now what will make them turn?? :banghead:

I also can't imagine him being sacked, as the Board would have to pay his contract up, and that would be anywhere between £15m and £24m, depending on what you believe AW is being paid.

He won't be sacked, Arsenal won't want the 'bad' publicity. He will be told to walk and will go by 'mutual consent', at the end of this season.

Without signing at least three TOP quality players, I honestly believe Arsenal will finish 6th or 7th. This is the poorest Arsenal squad for donkeys years and if Djourou and Squillaci play any part of our season, we are fucked.
This season will be a disaster and Wenger will be told to walk because we'll end the season playing to a two thirds full stadium at best (60,000 according to the club)!!

Bottom line is, if he manages to get Champions League this season he is going to be in charge of us still come this time next year. The people at Arsenal seem to be happy getting top 4, maybe a cup run every now and then.

Feck me!! it takes months just to sign a new player, can you imagine just how long this shower would take to find a new manager if Wenger resigned?

Personally i think he'll be sacked before Jan transfer opens . Sooner the better! :x

there's alot of chat about the first 4-5 matches and the season being defined in them.in any sane club after 6 years of nothing a bad run would even at this early stage be terminal, but this is the modern AFC and the cheque booK rules.wenger i'm afraid will see his contract out and even worse than that ,will then be teleported upstairs and hang over the next 3 managers like the sword of damacles,or the ghost of xmas past.FUCKING HELL.

A clge exit and a poor start to the prem campaign (both of which I think will happen) will see Wenger clinging on, and eventually losing his grip by the end of October.
I will have the day off work and get pissed, then celebrate his departure like I would celebrate a trophy win. Simply because his leaving will be the best thing that has happened to our club since we last won something.
Goodbye and good fucking riddance to this geriatric dictator who has long overstayed his welcome. :barscarf:

That's the thing that frightens the shite out of me! Even when he leaves the sideline you just know that he'll get a job "upstairs". What new manager is going to want to work with him there holding the pursestrings?
