As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
So yet another young unproven prospect who plays up front and will be sent on loans for 2 years has joined us... someone who didn't want to sign earlier because he wanted 'too much' money by our standards.
Whats the reckoning Arsene just caved and gave him what he wanted? Even though he claims the squad is too big. When we already have too many f**king forwards already and too many unproven prospects who we will sell on in a few years time anyway.
Why wasn't this time better spent getting that damn experienced and commanding defender we wanted so much? and backup for WS13? Especially when that debacle with the Cesc transfer is finally wrapping up. So much for our f**king high quality youth system.
I remember years ago, when the announcement Wenger had signed a young player we had never heard of brought us cautious joy, then celebrations when they came good (Viera, Ljungberg, Henry, Toure etc) but f**k this. Campbell better bloody well prove he is worth this, if we ever see him play more then a handful of games a season...
So this piece of shit tells Arsenal to f**k off a month ago when he thought he could get a better deal elsewhere. When he found he couldn't he comes back cap it hand to Arsenal and that c**t Wenger signs him.
If thats his attitude now what will he be like if he turns out be any good, sounds like another Adebayor to me
Some of the videos of him are good hopefully not flattering. If he's as good as they reckon give him 4 years, I mean we've given Vela and Bentner that long and they've hardly progressed.
I'm going to stick up for this guy because I think he's going to be class. Granted he's inexperienced but that doesn't mean we should write him off just because he's not a centre back.
I'm as pissed as the next person we've not strengthened our defence yet but I'm delighted with Campbell and Oxlaide Chamberlain.
This guy has played 27 games at international level and scored 18 goals and frankly destroyed every team he played at the Copa America.
We can apply for a second special talent visa so I'm hopeful this guy will make a big impact.
We don't know what the deal is with what happened a couple of weeks ago beyond speculation so I'm willing to give him a good chance and certainly not going to write him off.

The story about snubbing Arsenal may well have just been tabloid shit - to concentrate on the Copa America seems to be a reasonable thing in my book to delay the signing - and he has now done it so fair play.
Nice! If he pans out, maybe we can sell him on to a bigger club!
Anyway, I can't fault a promising kid just because AW & Co. doesn't properly take care of the first team situation. Good luck to him, I hope he succeeds and becomes great - we could definitely use it!

Why - is it written into his contract that he gets a new set every time we make a signing?
