I'm going to back Wenger for once on this, he got him for nowt, but nearly spent 7 million on the *word censored* in the transfer window beforehand... so he obviously doesn't see much of a profit that'll line his pocket once the useless *word censored* is eventually sold....

The poster French Gun has a lot to answer for!! When we were linked with Chamack didn't the guy say he was good in the air, held the ball up well and had a bit of pace? :? :?

Yet to see those qualities in him I'm afraid and, given the choice right now, I'd honestly prefer to keep Bendtner than this guy.

He is good in the air.

technically he is good.

But thats it, and that isn't even enough to be a good striker.

Let alone a striker good enough to push arsenal on.

He doesn't even have a shooting technique. He passes in the box when its virtually 1v1. When he did that last season I gave up on him.

Sell, Sell, Sell. But he isn't the only one.

If you're going to play passing possession football, you better have a potent striker in the team that can finish chances. Have you seen Valencia without david villa. Pass Pass Pass, woeful shots, then concede. Does that remind you of anyone?

We got away with relying on a injury prone CF because we had good finishers in midfield Cesc and Nasri. Right now we have awful finishers in midfield. Rosicky, Song, Wilshere, can they shoot  ?
Hell no!!!

Glad you sneaked in and got him just when it looked like he was going to sign for us, dodged a bullet there methinks! Seriously, I can't believe how ineffective the bloke looks- not great in the air, not strong, not overly quick, not a lethal finisher, not particularly skilful on the ball, poor awareness- quite how he ever got a move to Arsenal I have no idea, he must suck a fucking good dick thats all I can assume.

There were a fair few positives elsewhere for the Arsenal today though- keeper looks confident and unlikely to throw away too many points, both centre backs were fairly strong, Walcott still looks like he could do a job upfront (his attempt at a dink aside like), Song looks strong, Gevinho whilst seeming a bit tunnel visioned at time looks lively and likely to improve further the more he plays, so its not all bad, just need to root out a few like chamakh and rosicky (who i have always rated as a footballer but, alas, his legs look to have gone) and get in that bit of quality you need (I know, Wenger doesnt tend to do this part too well!) and it could actually be a good season for your lot, certainly top 4 should be achieved I'd have thought

Well I'd heard he was good in the air but he only won two headers all night in this game and his hold up play was awful. Plus he generally never seems to get himself into position in the centre of the opposition's box to be a threat there. Granted, he scored a couple of headed goals early last season but missed a few easy ones as well and even back then didn't strike me as the physical presence that he was touted to be nor the Plan B that we desperately needed.

Hes pretty much a shit version of Bendtner from what I can tell. I must admit, I haven't watched loads of him, but his goal record in France wasn't great (about 1 in 4/ 1 in 5 in the league which, in a very weak league, is nothing to write home about). If you're going to have a mediocre scoring record as a striker you really need to have something about you with regards to bringing people into play, holding the ball up well, creating chances etc and Chamakh seems to do none of the above. I think you'll peddle him back to France within the next 2 seasons

:x Wenger raved about this streak of piss so much so that he refused to pay £8million for him and so leave us without a striker from Dec2009 - late Feb2010 and we had to endure Arshavin as a striker.Which in hindsight probably cost us points but that didn't matter as Wenger saved us £8million and he told us he would give us a new added dimension to our attack.....WHAT BOLLOCKS.

He creamed that Chamakh was good in the air, technically good etc etc etc admittedly he had a good few months but the spuds game where he only had to shoot to score he instead looked for the pass not once but TWICE and we lost 2-4 and since he's been like i thought he be a average player from a weak league being paid a large sum.It always makes me laugh when Wenger states he only brings in player that improve the team well we got a player of the same ilk already but i think he's better and that Bendtner and even though Chamakh didn't cost anything he still getting paid a nice wedge :banghead: .Well at least we make a profit on the sale..

You can take all 3 and we'll chuck in Chamack for free..... all useless *word censored* who shouldn't be anywhere near our side and as for Roshity, he should really hang his boots up, a disgrace... pls, I just wish he would just fuck off and hang himself, (alongside his boots) to put himself out of his (and our) misery!!!

i disagree. denilson never had a 'half season' like chamakh had when he came in. he scored a good number of goals and looked like a very decent striker to be second or third choice. he saved our ass basically, maybe if we didn't have him last year we wouldn't even finish inside the top 4. his goals were absolutely crucial.

i really don't know what happened to him since, but he was not that shite, i'm sure of that. amazing how that guy lost his football somewhere... :?
