IF YOU COULD DO IT ALL AGAIN (MIDLIFE CRISIS POST)

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I am (now) trying not to have regrets.....BUT someone said to me a few years ago, If you are going to have regrets, it is better they be for or about something you did - like move to another country or change jobs or whatever....rather than have regrets about NOT doing something

So it's better to have tried to do something - and regret it, rather than never having tried and forever be wondering and regretful of something never ventured.....

I did some volunteer work a few years back - visiting people in hopsitals/hospices who had terminal illnesses, and more than a few said of their life, looking back about regrets...That they wish they had been kinder rather than insisting on being in the right.

I do wish I had been a better son to my Mum (May She Rest In Peace) we used to argue like feck....2 minutes later it was all forgotten etc, but in my (wild) youth - I used to get into lot of mischief, and only now having children of my own do I understand the "HELL" I put her through....

Still all we can do is to try and do our best today and hopefully tomorrow it will be a happy memory ! <shrug>
