Agree with the OP.
RVP is one of the only genuine 'Arsenal quality' players we have at the club, and deserves more credit - not only for his goal-scoring ability, but for his commitment and loyalty to the club. He's only two and half years away from a testimonial, which in this day and age, is quite an achievement.
Yes, he's been injured a great deal, but that's not his fault is it? It took Bergkamp 8 years to score 100 goals for us, and RVP looks as though he'll do it in 7, so credit where it's due.
Also, they mentioned during one of our matches the other day that RVP scored 22 goals last season (ballpark figure), and he didn't score the first of those until December.
They mentioned on SSN earlier that the tally was 97.

Here's the profile on Arsenal.com:
http://www.arsenal.com/first-team/playe ... van-persie
Lists it as 97, and seems up-to-date.

Why does everyone think RVP is so good??? He's a waste of space.
Too one sided, turns like a Dutch canal boat, doesn't close down defenders, can't head the ball, does't make runs across the six yard box. He just hangs around the penalty spot waiting for breaks (from who?).
He's not a leader and definately not a captain. I don't know who he compares himself to but he would't lace Rooneys boots.
Walcott? Not even going to start on him.
I think they are part of the problem not the solution.

Robin Van Persie is currently the only world class player we have. There is a reason why Holland continue to pick and play RVP at every opportunity.
Admittedly he has had a terrible injury record (and any reliance on him is a management issue) but the guy, when fit, is up there with some of the best at the moment. Recent goals to games ratio is exemplary.
