Maybe it stems from the fact when I stated supporting Arsenal we were probably the underdogs (1986-87), but in my eyes the minimum requirement from every season is to finish above the Spuds.

and what does finishing 4th achieve then? if anything it is bad for us, it gives the board an excuse for lack of ambition, scraping in that tournament just to pretend we're competing with europe's elite even though we'll struggle in the group stages. It adds up to our already congested fixture list, it gives wenger a reason for him to feel like the pompous, sanctimonous arrogant man he is, regardless of what he has achieved at our club.
