THE MAN IS TOP GOALSCORER; HAS 9 GOALS IN 13 LEAGUE GAMES - A RATIO EVEN HENRY IN HIS PRIME WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH; SCORED ANOTHER CRACKER LAST NIGHT; GIVES AS OPTIONS THAT WE NEVER HAD WHEN HENRY WAS OUR STAR FORWARD; HAS HAD TO BATTLE UP FRONT ON HIS OWN AGAINST TWO CENTRAL DEFENDERS FOR MANY GAMES. yes i know he's our top scorer but thats more then likely because rvp hasnt played,, sorry ihh but ade just doesnt do it for me and i dont think he suits our game; ie the passing one and not the 4 5 1 we seem to play now,,
its just i do think he has the potential to be better,, and if he he could stop been billy big balls then he could be a legend in the making

Aaaaaah! Can all of this, "he gives us options" and "he gives us something different" stuff stop now, please? He doesn't give us anything different, especially when RvP is out injured because that's all we've got. We lump it long to him and hope for a knock down and decent distribution, which more often than not, doesn't come. With him in the side, what else can we do? He isn't going to go past players, he isn't a clinical finisher, he's developing a bad mentality and his distribution is poor. What's more, when he plays, I'd argue that he constricts our options as the whole team seems to play in order to accommodate him. In recent weeks, we have compromised much of our passing style to play a more direct 4-5-1 which just doesn't work. Now, I know the formation is Wenger's fault and not Ade's, but please don't tell me he gives us "options" because he doesn't. There is no variety to his play. If we still had TH and a fit RvP with Ade on the bench, then fine, he does give us options. While he's starting week in, week out, not only does he give us no options, he restricts our options. Also, my problem with the "he gives us something different" argument is linked to this, so I won't repeat myself.

Also, I hate when people talk of him being a "big game player". If we are to assume that, in the grand scheme of things, Sp*rs isn't that huge a game, which of the big teams has he scored against other than Utd away? I don't give a shit what Rio Ferdinand said about him being a difficult player to play against, by the way. He may have been difficult to play against in that particular game, but I know what I see week in, week out.

Also, yes, he's scored a few goals this season. But Kevin Phillips scored 30 in a season once. Let's not get carried away with his goalscoring record this year, as it offers a very flattering view of his overall contribution to the team.

Don't get me wrong. I actually have a soft spot for Ade and I would love to see him do well. Really I would. But I just don't like him being our main striker and I don't like the way the team is now moulded around him.

That's fair enough. I've never told anyone that they have to agree with me and your point of view is just as valid as mine. Anyway, I'm not sure where you got the idea of us falling out - I'm a lover, not a fighter! To be honest, I love the fact that we seem to disagree on most things. It makes for interesting conversation rather than a continuous discussion thread consisting of; 'Poster 1 says "I think such and such", poster 2 says "I agree", poster 3 says "I agree, too"' you know?

So by all means, disagree with me. We're all Gooners and falling out over a bloody internet forum would just be silly!
